The much-hyped crossover episode of Bhabhi, Saarthi, Karam Apnaa Apnaa and Kumkum that was to be shot today, suffered a major set-back as Neela Telefilms Studio at Thakur Village caught fire, destroying all the costumes which were to be used for the shoot. Now they have to make do with hired costume.
Akshay Addapa, operations head of Saarthi, says, "We were supposed to shoot the special crossover episode from today. However, on Wednesday night there was a short circuit which resulted in a fire at our studio in Kandivali."
Relating the incident he says, "Just when we thought that all our work was done - the fittings, costumes, designing for the January 11 episode - when this happened. Now, everything is in a mess. Every single costume including our regular ones for Saarthi are destroyed. We suffered a loss to the tune of Rs 6 lakh."
He adds, "At the moment, I am trying to fix everything. We have to arrange the costumes for the shoot. I had to call up three of my my designer friends and brief them. I have requested them to provide maximum number of costumes. I have also requested everyone in the production house of Karam, Bhabhi and Kumkum to bring their own costumes. Everyone has been very co-operative. We have also rented a few costumes but they need to be altered."
Addapa further says, "I have asked one of my production guys to file an FIR as I have no time to get into legal hassles. Our set is insured, so we will get our money back. The major problem is to arrange everything for the shoot. We all are working on it and hope to complete the shoot without compromising on quality."
