Suhana aunt and uncle (the people she was living with at the time) told her to think about marrying Dev as they knew he loved her and that Mehak would get a mother. After a lot of soul searching, she agreed. Just as she had come to terms with her fate, her love Nihaal comes to the town to see his son Suhan who was there for a football tournament adn was causing problems for Mehak and Suhana. He was injured after locking Mehak in a shed and falling off an object that he had used to scare her through the open window.
Nihaal came to the hospital where his son was admitted and where Suhana was being comforted by Dev about not finding Suhan earlier. (she felt guilty) He meets Mehak who tells him about her mummy and daddy. (doesn't tell him that they not married yet and that she is step-mom) so when Nihaal sees Suhana with Dev, he asssumes that she is married and keeps away from her. He thinks that she has a lil girl and is happy in her married life and doesn't want to cause her any pain.
Suhana doesn't find out either that Nihaal is Suhan father until just before the engagement ceremony. Once Nihaal discovers that Suhaana isn't married then he goes all out to make her admit that she loves him and to marry him. She refuses. While this is happening, Megha (Nihaal wife) is getting suspicious about her hubby. She comes down to the place but she doesn't meet Suhana. She thinks her husband is aving an affair. Se hires someone to spy on him etc. But doesn't get anywhere.
On Suhana's wedding day, Nihaal phones her and tells her to come to see him. She does. Only to give back the blanket he unknowingly gave her when she was at a mandir and he was giving out blankets to the poor. She tells him that she doesn't love him and that he needs to go back to Megha and Suhan. She leaves. Everyone at the wedding is concerned when Suhana doesn't come out of her room. Dev goes into the room and speaks to her and tells her that she can go to her love if she wants to. They have a long talk and get married.
Nihaal goes back home where Megha refuses to go back to him when he tells her that Suhana is married to Dev. She asks him whether if she hadn't then would he still be here? He stays silent and she gets her answer. She divorces him and leaves with her son.
Nihaal turns to drink.
Suhana and Dev are happy in their married life when odd things start to happen, i.e. someone taking pics of her, accidents etc.
Dev is going to America to treat his mother who has cancer. They say their goodbyes. Suhana and Mehak are playing in the gardden when Mehak goes into a shed (something like that) adn it catches fire. She goes in to save her but gets trapped. She dies in the fire. Dev is devastated and has pics of Suhana all over the house. Mehak is sad too.
A police officer comes to see Dev who tells him that they have arrested a woman claiming to be his wife who is girlfriend of a gangster. Dev refuses to beleive it and during the court case that follows he piles on insults adnd everything at her. She reveals things about their marriage that they only knew and everything about Nihal too. He still refuses. He thinks she must have got hold of Suhana diary as everything was in there.
Nihal sees the trial on TV and knows that its Suhana and goe to help her. He reveals to all that she is Suhana. The bad guy admits it when he is fatally shot during a police shoot-out. The diary was kept by Mehak and shows to her family and all realise that she is Suhana.
Dev is guilt-striken when he learns this. Rumours start flying around the place concerning her incarceration with the baddies and what torment she must have endured etc. Suhana has nightmares of Dev not believing her and this creates a distance between the two. THey both make up after discussing the situation adn decide to leave the place and move somewhere else.
The current family - Aunt, Uncle, Mandira and Rohit are introduced.
