| | | | Manish Goyal and Dolly Sohi in Bhabhi | Bhabhi is short of 200 episodes to reach the 1,000 landmark but Manish Goyal has decided that he wants to quit the Star Plus show. Goyal feels there isn't much for him to do in the show, as with the departure of Dolly Sohi, he is unlikely to occupy centre-stage.
Ironically, when Sohi was part of the afternoon soap, Goyal shared cold vibes for her. Now that she is out of the show (Sohi has migrated to Canada), Goyal, too, finds himself making an exit.
When contacted, Goyal who has been a part of Bhabhi from day one, told hitList, "Yes, it is true that I would like to say adieu to Bhabhi, but not before 1000 episodes which I consider as a very special moment. Jealous of youngsters
I have spoken to UTV (the production house). Till the time my character changed from a hero to a father, it was okay. I took it in my stride.
But now with my character progressing from a father to a father-in-law, it's getting a bit much. More importantly, I don't want to simply stand in the backdrop as the youngsters hog the limelight."
On one hand Goyal says he wants to quit but on the other, he admits that he wouldn't mind continuing if his role has meat and not fluff.
"But that can only happen if they bring Saroj back. In other words, I mean that I would definitely have a stronger track only if they find a suitable replacement for Dolly," he explains.

According to Bonnie Jain of UTV (General Manager, Television Operations) "Bhabhi will continue through this year."
Has Manish informed UTV that he wants to quit Bhabhi after 1000 episodes? Jain replied, "No, he has not.
Manish's character, Tilak, is very much part of the existing story and will be in the foreseeable future too," adding, "There are no plans to bring Saroj's character back. In fact there are a lot of surprises in store for viewers in terms of twists and appearances from big stars in future episodes." UTV took 24 hours to send us this response.
