Samay continues to be an enigma...

They are portraying 2 aspects of Samay's personality...

1) outright psycho who obsessively loves Maya & is capable of doing anything for her

a) his monologues about his crazy love for Maya

b) his dialogues to Maya about his obsession for her

c) his helping Maya to frame Ayan

d) his doggy way of rolling n kissing the ground 😆

e) his puncturing his ring finger to avoid wearing Saanjh's engagement ring. .

2) a man of profound thinking who is totally in love with Saanjh & who wishes to stop Maya's destructive streak (though his monologues suggest otherwise) ...

a)his saving the goldfish which Maya wanted to kill

b)the symbolism shown in his extinguishing the 3 red candlesbut leaving 1 white candle burning,

c) his providing rings to Saanjh's entire family for his engagement with Saanjh...saying that marriage involves the entire family...he didn't need to do that for being Maya's kutta..

d) His mouthing dialogues like Samay sirf Sach dekhta Hai, Saanjh ki aankhon se sirf sachchai jhalakti Hai, etc

e) where was he since 8 years n why has he only now returned, if he was so madly in love with Maya?

f) in this show where there is a lot of usage of symbolisms, Samay's name is suggestive of time catching up with ones karma eventually...hence Samay being the cause of Maya's downfall...

Though the balance currently is strongly in favour of option 1, I cannot help but wonder, that is it one mighty illusion created by Samay to bring about Maya's downfall?!?...n the main reason for this is that I don't see any other person doing this in the show...

Ayan is in jail, Arjun seems to have given up trying, Vandana & Saanjh seem to be too much of amateurs in handling Maya, the pro at manipulations n creating illusions...they are behaving very foolishly at times, n are totally at Maya's mercy at the moment...

..then, who does that leave us with?...Jhanvi & Samay...Jhanvi will play a pivotal role later I think, but at the moment, only a bigger mightier illusion can break illusions created by Maya around the Sharma family, ie Ayan's fake rape case, Arjun's domestic abuse image, etc

Hence, more than conviction, how I hope that option 2 turns out to be true...coz that would provide a real thrill factor to the storyline...

But for option 2 to happen, all acts of Samay could be justified as being smaller parts of a much bigger plan...but for his monologues...😕

...a man can't lie to himself, can he??!??

...but then a man can't be this doggy, can he??😆

I wish the makers had been more clear in their narrative as lots of viewers are very confused at the moment ...high time they began to reveal truth about the past to the audience...high time indeed...

Well, I actually wanted him to be in LOVE with Maya and rescue her from her own imprisoned self (before the rape fiasco happened of course) but it's now inching more towards the desi 'Desi Collings' theory only. As for profound dialogues, even Maya gets those, but that's not surprising because psychopaths are well-versed in masking their true persona with well crafted camouflages - in short, they're charming outwardly, which is exactly what Maya and Samay have been so far.

Although I'd say, Samay is also wasted in this show just like Maya has been reduced to an evil villain. I think Samay will be forced to revolt against Maya in the future and that's when he'll side with Saanjh and will be instrumental in bringing Maya's downfall.

Your second theory is just too far fetched and impossible in my opinion. Why would he go to such an extent even if he is in love with Saanjh.

As you said, his monologues imply that he is madly in love with Maya.So even if in the future, Samay turns out to be Maya's foe, it would be difficult for the cvs to justify his monologues.

And regarding Samay saving the 2 goldfish, I believe that it was the cvs way of showing that though Samay is madly in love with Maya and would do anything for her, there's still some conscience in him. This may be symbolic of the future where he would rather give up his life than do something grossly wrong.

Yes, I do agree that Samay's actions and his words have been extremely contradictory. But him actually being a opponent of Maya seems very very less likely to me.

P.S. even I had a lot of hopes from Samay when he was introduced to us. But from the looks of it, the cvs are definitely going the Gone Girl route, and Samay is nothing more than a Desi Collings who is soon going to meet his horrible death.

At the moment, what you're saying is quite possible...but again, if he's this psycho, I don't think Saanjh would wish to join hands with a psychopath...they are obviously so dangerous to deal with...

But all that I'm saying is that Samay being a double agent could really add to the thrill factor of the show...

About Maya being just an evil villain...I read somewhere that though psychopaths are born with differently wired brains, it's their circumstances & environment which turns them into criminals...so basically, I think the makers plan to still make Ashwin only as the real villain, n Maya as a byproduct of his evil genes & his abuse...I can already visualise the audiences lapping it up...😆

At this point i really feel that option A) is true

Samay is obsessed about Maya and can go to the lengths of killing others or harming himself for Maya's sake

I do think that he will do something extreme really soon and he will go rogue and will be a loose cannon

He will never intentionally hurt Maya or will ever side with Saanjh against Maya in my opinion...Coz so far what has been shown Samay can hurt anyone except Maya...I will not be surprised if he will be responsible for Vandana's murder if indeed Vandana is dying as per the spoilers. (Maya may ask her to kill Vandana or he himself might do it)

But somehow he will play an important role in unraveling Maya's truth is what I feel.

Where he was all these years, how and when did he meet Maya, what went wrong between the two etc. all these questions can be answered by the CVs only.

Also as per some spoilers that Arjun will die and will come back in season 3 to seek revenge and Samay will kidnap Maya and it will be like movie Darr...i don't think Maya will ever be shown as a damsel in distress...Her obsession will always be at the front and center rather than anyone else's

I also think that at some point of the story Samay will die...I will not be surprised if Maya will be the one to remove him from her way.

I don't think Maya has any soft corner for him, she is simply using him and the day she feels that Samay has become a liability she will not hesitate in removing him from the way.

So, in my opinion as of now Samay is a dangerous obsessive lover without brains 😆

What you are saying is absolutely true, but a part of me is unable to completely give up on option 2...maybe it's more hope than conviction at this point...

This I disagree with...if he is this psycho that he can help Maya to frame Ayan coz he obsessively loves Maya, there's no question of a conscience existing in him...

My theory is that Maya has been using Samay to do her dirty work by exploiting his obsession for her. The gullible Samay has been waiting for eons for Maya to reciprocate her love just like how Desi did too without any questions asked. You can see how Maya subtly manipulates Samay and he falls for them every time. Like I'd mentioned yesterday elsewhere, notice how she emphasizes on his love for her and makes him to do her bidding. The moment she mentioned he'd be leaving his 'pyar ki nishani' on her body, the reluctant Samay acquiesced right away. But this can't go on for long and he's reach a tipping point and that's when all hell will break lose for Maya I think.

Maya's psych profile is an enigma IMO😆

In this equation, where does Saanjh fit? She was supposedly saving Arjun from Maya! Has it changed now?

Is Arjun going to save Maya from samay or is Maya going to neutralize Samay so that Arjun's life is not under threat? What is realistically going to happen?
If Samay vanishes, is Arjun safe with unchanged Maya or Saanjh will still try to pull him out of her prison?
Where is the story heading really? To prove who is more obsessive Maya to Arjun or Samay to Maya?
Have they forgotten the 'selfless love' part of the story completely?

The long wait is almost killing the thrill aspect for me...it should be fast paced, imo...

Also as per some spoilers that Arjun will die and will come back in season 3 to seek revenge and Samay will kidnap Maya and it will be like movie Darr...

Arjun dying n returning in S3 is suggestive of an illusion being created for Maya...

i don't think Maya will ever be shown as a damsel in distress...Her obsession will always be at the front and center rather than anyone else's

Towards the end, it will be, I think...a damsel in distress due to her mental illness...

I also think that at some point of the story Samay will die...I will not be surprised if Maya will be the one to remove him from her way.

If it's option 1, it better be that way ...😆

That's the very reason I think of option 2 as a possibility...is Samay indeed so naive that he cannot see thru her reality??...it's so obvious that shes only using him...n all he's done so far is to ensure that Maya believes that he can do anything for her, n hence she should leave Arjun...

So, in my opinion as of now Samay is a dangerous obsessive lover without brains 😆

😆...that would be linear storytelling, imo...😆
