Maya IS back, and she has shown that she is the mastermind. I feel she DID try to fit in with Vandhana. She thought that maybe this was a chance for her to leave her old identity behind and start afresh. A chance to not be "Maya Meherotra" but "Maya Arjun Sharma". But she was right in her self talk. The world won't let her forget who she is, and people like Vandana never will. (Even if Maya was really 100% the victim, people like Vandana will always consider her inauspicious etc and reject her. Vandana is not that progressive).Whatever "Fantasy" Maya had about being a normal wife, Babhi and Bahu and living with the Shrama's I think has now been set aside. She tried that Gig, but her MIL didnt let her forget who she was. So she will revert back to being Maya Meherotra in her actions, but Maya Sharma to the world. So much so the world will think she is the best Wife, SIL, and DIL, and Vandana is a terrible person for rejecting her. It's payback time Baby! This show proves you dont have to be a perfect Abala Nari Bahu type to get appreciation. The way Maya is, giving it back, boderline psycho, people still love her!Bring it On Maya Baby!
The makers are keeping it really ambiguous, and so much is left to the audience's imagination to fill in the gaps. Like I also thought Maya was genuinely trying to have a normal life but somehow a panic-stricken Vandana's over-reactions triggered her beyhadh side that she's left with nothing but to go back to the only way she knows how to take complete control of any situation. Through sheer manipulation. Ah, nice!
Maya resembles Amy Dunne in a lot of ways, now I really want Arjun and Saanjh to be trapped in her machinations in the end like Nick and his sister. It'll be so much fun😆
