In the game of love, there are no winners. There are only losers. The stark reminder was obvious immediately in the case of Sanjh, The loss of Arjun will unravel slowly and Maya's loss is going to be spectacular and ultimate.
For a brief second, I did wonder whether Sanjh would be able to retrieve the blessings in the form of the ring from her father. Unfortunately, it was not to be so. Kudos to Aneri for her moving performance.
Darkness is like a vacuum. A person in the eye of the darkness can never hope to see the radiance of light. She/He can never expect for the light to reach the darkest recess & illuminate it. To bask in the warmth of the light, one must take the step TOWARDS the light or take action to remove the darkness surrounding the person. Maya has opted to do neither instead, she has wrapped her darkness tightly and is hoping that the darkness stays within. Unless she is ready for the change, unless she is ready to face her demons, her near and dear one's will always face the wrath of darkness. In this case, Arjun will have to pay the price of her darkness. What the pandit Ji said was nothing shocking or special, Janvi, Maya's mother had said the same thing, Maya had opted to escape then but she will not have the luxury of escape in future. Plus all the symbolisms and metaphors of the previous episodes have been saying that Arjun is going to be dazzled by Maya's riches & he is going to be fooled by illusions and deceptions. The Pandit Ji's prophecy encapsulated the whole 60 episodes in 3-4 short sentences.
But one cannot just wish away what he has said or what happens subsequently. The darkness of Maya is going to swamp and destroy the lives of everyone who is close to her or who forms part of her family. (Digression: Maya is living quite peacefully with her mother, so why will Maya 2.0 get unleashed, does the trigger come from outside?)
In ancient Chinese, lighting the lamps and floating it on water was supposed to send the accompanying prayers directly to the god. But when the soul has a secret, when there is a darkness hiding within the prayer, how can that prayer be accepted? So the lamps burn! interestingly, the conflagration does not destroy just one lamp, it destroys both the lamps, yet the lamps stay together!! The round 1 of love game laden with darkness, secrets, pain, ambition will bring only despair to all the parties. For the love to be successful, the heart has to be clean and the soul has to be pure since that is not the case, this relationship is doomed!
But is all lost for Arjun & Maya? From what I have seen (up to present episode) I don't think so. God's write our fate but a man makes his own destiny. As Arjun so explicitly said today, he will make his own destiny and his destiny is with Maya. If one looks through our scriptures, one will come across the stories of Savitri and Markandeya. Savitri was destined to lose her husband to death and so was Markendaya but their pure love, devotion won over death and changed their destiny. If Arjun & Maya's love is pure - then it shall definitely erase the cloying darkness of Maya's past. If the love is true, then the Mark of darkness that is irrevocably stamped in Maya's heart will dissipate allowing the brilliant rays of love to illuminate every corner's of her soul.
Lets hope their love is true!!
