[Let me preface by saying, that I used to be a DMG fan, and that the Jennifer era, for various reasons, was never my most favorite. It wasn't entirely Jennifer's fault, she carried whatever was given to her by the CVs, with grace. (The CVs included Ameeta Devadigga, who happens to now carry Beyhadh too, and who now has a track record of spoiling for me, two shows that I loved, with unnecessary melodrama that never suited those shows.) Riddhima, for me, was Shilpa. Still is.]
Bang On!!!... So So So true.. post shilpa Ridzi lost her charm.. jen felt too old for her..and suku felt too kiddish for her
Having got that out of the way, let me just say, MAYA MEHROTRA + JENNIFER WINGET (+Ameeta Devadigga) IS A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN.I will go ahead and say, for me this is the only series that Jen has appeared in and where I am not irritated by her... She has a matured woman (too mature😆 .. strict aunty types) appeal to her and therefore all the characters she has played in the past have been too 'serious'... BUT Maya needs exactly that... and off all actresses on tv i can't think of even one who could pull this off but jen
She almost seems born for the role, as exaggerated as that sounds. It's been just two weeks, but the way she has managed to portray the role with so much conviction, blows me away. The last episode, as much as it broke my heart me to watch Maya crawling away on the floor in fear, reeling back, terrified, when her creep of a father scared her with his antics, wrapping herself up in her tiny arms and banging her head on the wall crying, the helplessness from her past creeping back up on her, it also left me in awe at the amount of talent this woman has. The scene right after, when she channeled the innocent nine year old in her, while cutting her cake with the one constant person in her life, her Ganpati, was so immensely beautiful. The contrasts drawn there were brilliant, and Jennifer carried them like a boss.
No matter how the show proceeds, no matter how it ends, no matter how long it lasts, one thing is for sure. Jennifer Winget has left her mark. And Maya Mehrotra will probably become the role that helped her do that.

Riddhima was a horribly one-dimensional character and the show had reached its nadir when she came in as the replacement. Even then she portrayed the character's vulnerabilities fair and square and made it her own. Suffices to say, replacements are never received with an open heart and that's what happened to her too.😆Even though I like her as Maya, I loved her more as Kumud. She was phenomenal before the characterization went south (as is the norm in Indian TV) of course.

As much as i know Jenny became the most popular Riddhima than the other two so i disagree that she wasn't received well as A Replacement 😆
