Most importantly Maya was chromophobic.
Specially depressed people see the world gloomy for some times, even they cannot enjoy tge glitter of sun shine, so they prefer wearing white, so gives a bright feeling around them.
in depression, white can brighten your mood instantly.

People with HSP, highly sensitivity, some times become irritated with colors. Then they start to wear white.

Also white resonate respect. Just imagine, a women with white dress cannot be disrespected.
It is human psychology.

For extra sensitivity of HSP they do not like people insult them, hurt them, humiliate them, or flirt disrespectfully, or tease or taunt.

A white dress, do the psycological trick, and most of the time other person will behave well with you.

white dresses has a messege tag with it, that is, " I am the best, respect , when you talk with me" .

Not neccesarily you are hiding your darkness, you are just protecting your super sensitive self from
external damage, when you are all alone.
