I understand where you are coming from, Vikram may have loved her when he was taking care of her and she was in coma. But love and respect go hand in hand (w/o corona virus 😆).. like if the girl is saying no, leave her alone. In the flashback, when he was teaching her karate, and he wasn't yet a psycho, he tried to touch her w/o her permission when she hit him back. I don't take that as a sign of true love. Maar khane k baad propose kiya, ki ab to haath lagane de! 🤢

I won't call MM's love true love, but hers was protective, that type of "love" I am talking of. The kind where she says I am sick of you and he cuts his own hand becuase he makes her sick.
