Hi

I caught up on the four episodes just yesterday, so I thought I'd give a combined view of the entire party sequence.

1. I just love MJ more and more. He truly seems an enigma this season, someone everyone fears a little because he is so formidable. Even Rudra seemed a little fearful after he started the confrontation in the party, and when MJ said don't create a scene, Rudra actually did oblige. MJ is extremely strong-willed, determined and driven by his passion to the point of no return. 👏 He sort of shows traits of Maya 1.0, he is obsessed with his sons and has the ability to do things for his family, that HE perceives are beneficial and thrusts them upon his family, who have to accept it and concede that it is for their betterment. Rudra is able to get away with his arrogance (which is absolutely right) solely because MJ loves him too much to take any action.

2. a. Rudra. I am enjoying Rudra way more than I like watching Maya. He's smart, astute, he deciphers people's games quite easily. He just cannot understand Maya, but he actually does not completely fail at it either. He rightly guessed that Maya brought Rajeev to create a confusion. He's intuitive and his instincts are pretty strong. And he feels very strongly about lies, and betrayals. If it all, he falls for Maya, her deceit for her revenge would probably be unpardonable in his eyes.

b. Rudra as a son is unparalleled. I LOVE what he told his mother about her own identity, which is very true in today's times. The realisation that every woman despite her different roles is her very own person is lost by many women. He is willing to stand up for her, and urges her to do so. I was awestruck by how he supported his mother and ushered her from the party when she mentioned about infidelity. That showed he was present when that happened, and he went through the same pain with his Mom, which Rishi is completely unaware of.

c. Rudra is righteous enough to be grateful to Maya but is not willing to excuse her lies even after her immense help, showing how frustrated he is with such webs around him. Rudra is my favourite character this season. He's as imperfectly perfect anyone can get.

3. a. Ananya. I love how she supports Rudra and stands by him. But she doesn't seem to understand the gravity of the situation. Antara was drunk and yet, MJ pointedly insulted her in public and barring Rudra, no one can actually see how wrong MJ was. And Ananya was still figuring out about Maya when Rudra was raging from his father's classy cheapness. Not very comprehensible. 👎🏼

b. Ananya trying to find the Rajeev-Maya connection was the plus point. She's pretty quick when it comes to her work, that way. But as of now, she's a passive observer in this entire scheme of things. Will she understand? Will she react? No idea. But I like how she is not overtly interfering either. 👍🏼

4. Antara is smarter than I give her credit for. 👏 She's the personification of weakness itself, however I think she understands that SHE does not have it in her to rebel against MJ and face the consequences, and she also knows that Rudra is not ready either. And Rudra is not, he is only consumed by hatred, but MJ is above all of that. MJ has learnt the art of self-control so that he can control everyone around him. So the truth is out, she's broken, defeated, cheated and stuck and trapped. And she finally accepted what MJ wanted her to, accept that whatever horrendous insult he brought upon her was for her benefit. 😳👏 I liked her acting overall, but during the party, some of her actions and gestures were slightly over the top.

5. Rajeev. I don't like him. He seems to be a complete misfit in the current set-up. His comic timing is horrible, and even though as a standalone character, he is good, he is a complete mismatch in the show right now. Idk if it will improve. Rishi-Rudra's comic timing last week was on point, it went with the flow of the story, the setting, the classiness. Rajeev was just a clown jumping here and there. Maybe they could tweak him a bit. And his hair. 🤬👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

6. a. Rishi. Just like Ananya, I don't understand Rishi. He's 21. He isn't such a child that he cannot understand what is right and wrong from his own eyes. What MJ did, however skillfully done was wrong. He thinks Rudra is wrong for raising his voice but MJ wasn't one bit wrong for doing what he did. Either he's completely under his father's thumb or he's just stupid. 🤔

b. Rishi-Maya seems to have lesser and lesser scope with passing time. Maya seems to be overestimating Rishi's feelings for her like anything. He doesn't love her at all, he just wanted a hot woman, and now he's just afraid to walk out because of her extreme behaviour. But, I do enjoy Maya with Rishi simply because she reminds me of Maya 1.0 and it is fun to watch.

7. Sultan deserves a mention because he was cuteness overloaded. I am no dog lover, I am extremely petrified of dogs. But there is something endearing to watch in this human-animal connection, and especially so because they showed him as a pup and now he's an adult. I understand the lifespan is a blooper, but despite that it is cool. 😆

8. Diya seems shadier and shadier with each passing day. She doesn't even make sense. Why would MJ feel bad? From which angle does he seem like a guy who feels BAD or SAD? He's someone who is determined to control everyone around him. That is it. He's beyond all emotions of sadness and grief and misery etc. Same goes for Rishi. Why do they have this humane image of MJ which doesn't exist? 🤓

9. a. Maya. Finally. Someone had posted about Maya not being as intriguing as S1. And now I have to sort of agree. The story is moving a little TOO slowly. Everything she says or does seems acquired and something she's adapted to.

b. I enjoy the suspense, I enjoy the web of Maya-ness she weaves around the Roys. But sometimes, actions have to speak louder than words. What did she achieve at the party? Nothing at all. When she claimed it would be the beginning of someone's fall, someone would fail etc etc. Nothing much happened.

c. Antara was frustrated already, and she was depressed anyways. She'd have created a scene sooner or later. And MJ salvaged the situation and suited it to benefit himself. Yes, their perfect family image crashed but they just became another normal family with lots of issues.

d. Maya, I noticed is TOO poised and graceful to even be real, considering her profession is of a writer, and right now, she's just an avenger (for want of a better word 🤣). In S1, she was graceful and that suited a fashionista, but this season, it is even more grace and perfection than before, and it is getting hard to digest. Maybe, if she shed some control and became a little natural, things would be nicer. Maybe we are getting there.

e. I LOVED how she contrasted between Rudra and Rishi. We'd done that in the Forum over time, but I LOVED HOW they showed it.

10. Aamir. He's last coz he didn't do much. But I like Aamir. I liked how Maya-Aamir did adaap in the past, I liked how he pulled Rajeev up. I don't know, Aamir gives some amiable vibes. I really like him.

Yeah, so that is it. This ended up being a little long, please comment, so I don't look like some fool around here. 😆
