So we first have a recap of what happened last week, including Thursday's episode where a doctored up picture of Vedant lying over Veera in his house has been printed in the local paper, and Nirvaan explodes and drags Veera downstairs and the whole house, including Neelkanth comes to know about it. The picture is one that Paras took and it has been colored in to look more sordid than what actually took place, like a still from a love scene.
Everyone is downstairs, reacting to the picture, except for Jati Bua and Paras, who are watching from her room. Neelkanth is so shocked that he says nothing, goes to his room and shuts the door. Jati Bua and Paras are smiling to each other, and Jati Bua touches Paras' hand which is resting on her shoulder. (get a life you two). Then inside Neelkanth's room, he is crying. Nutan is trying to console him, and get a reaction out of him but he is sitting there lifeless, his eyes not moving.
The scene shifts to a local street in Rajkot, where two men see Vedant walking by and recognize him from his picture in the paper. One of them taunts Vedant and asks him to tell him what he did and asks about the details etc. Vedant, enraged, takes the two into a nearby ISD box and beats them up. Then Vedant goes into the street and warns the entire crowd that is there that if anyone harasses the girl in the picture, they will suffer the same fate as these two. Then people go back to their normal routine and Vedant leaves.
Vedant calls Veera's house, asking to speak to her and Krishna answers. She gets upset at Vedant and rebukes him, saying where does he get off calling her, that he has called today but never to call again. Vedant puts two and two together and figures out that someone has tried to give them a badnaam and set them up.
The scene shifts to Neelkanth's room, where he is in bed, he hears a doorbell ringing again and again and wakes up. Then he runs through the house, locking all the windows and doors in a state of paranoia. He feels that all of the neighbors will be trying to come in and harass them because of what happened. He becomes completely paranoid.
Then the phone rings, and Neelkanth starts talking to himself. Nutan watching him is scared out of her wits.
The next day Veera is walking on the street and then some men follow her on the street, making fun of her, with a copy of the paper in their hands. Then Veera in her room, opens a drawer, takes out a fresh razor blade and is about to slit her wrist. Then Krishna stops her and shouts, what are you doing? Then Veera, upset by the day's events, tells Krishna that she wants to die etc. Then Krishna is like no, she can't die, she has to live. That their father needs them and if you do this to yourself what will happen to everyone.
Neelkanth is replaying the scene of the previous episode in his head and stands in the middle of the living room in darkness. Then an imaginary man taunts him, and then another with the story about Veera. Neelkanth is truly ashamed, and then the men tell him to leave. One of the men says, we don't need people like you, go away! Neelkanth, unable to bear the hostile voices, covers his ears.
Then later in the evening, Neelkanth is sitting upstairs and Nutan brings him a tray with some bowls of food and asks him what is the matter. He falls onto her, unconscious. Nutan, alarmed, says she will handle everything to him and then she screams for Nirvaan and Krishna to help as something has happened.
The scene shifts to the hospital, where Neelkanth is being rushed on a bed in the emergency dept. The daughters are following Neelkanth's bed being wheeled to the ER with Nutan. Krishna comforts Nutan, telling her that nothing will happen to Neelkanth, that everything will be ok. Then Veera joins in, and tries to console Nutan but she snaps at Veera, that Veera is shameless and that she should leave, and that if anything happens to Neelkanth today, that she will never forgive Veera as long as she lives or look at her face. Veera hearing this is upset and feels guilty. She asks Nutan to stop saying such things. Parth arrives on the scene and puts a hand on Veera's shoulder, trying to soften the blow of her mother's words. Then Chand arrives at the hospital with Mahindra. Nutan cries on her shoulder and falls apart basically. She asks her what will happen to Neelkanth? She tells her nothing. Chand handles it calmly. The camera shows Parth and Mahindra. (Parth is wearing another plaid shirt that doesn't suit him). Mahindra tells Nutan that nothing will happen to Neelkanth and then excuses himself saying he has to take care of the hospital formalities. (Why the heck doesn't Nirvaan do this?)
Then in a corner by herself, Krishna prays to Lord Krishna and cries. She doesn't want anything to happen to their father. Parth comes and reassures her to have faith in God, that everything will be ok.
The doctor comes out into the waiting area, where all are eagert o hear of the diagnosis. Nirvaan asks the doctor if Neelkanth is alright. The doctor-saab says that the problem is serious but because of God he has survived. Parth asks what is wrong with Neelkanth. Then the doctor tells the entire family that Neelkanth has had a paralytical attack. The scene shifts to black and white and freezes on Veera, who is shocked beyond words, because she feels reponsible.
What happens to the family next? Does Neelkanth recover or fall deeper into sickness? Does Vedant start investigating who was behind the picture? Find out on tomorrow's Paraya Dhan.
*Am grateful for the five seconds of Parth that the writers gave us, but hope he gets more this week! I can't believe how seriously uncaring Paras and Jati Bua are, knowing they were behind it and noone knows.*
