18th Jan-a brief recap

We rejoin Nilkant and his family in the living room, where they are meeting with Mahindra, his friend, and his sister about the possible marriage of him and Chand. Jati Bua butts in in the middle of this conversation (loser) and praises Chand, how the family has taught her values and how good Chand's cooking is, etc, embarrassing Chand and her mother. Mahindra asks if it's ok with Nilkant if he asks Chand something, and he agrees, getting up and everyone leaves with him. Veera, understanding Chand's unease, volunteers to stay behind with her but Nilkant says no. so then Mahindra and Chand have a brief conversation and he gives her his business card. Then everyone returns to the living room and Mahindra and his group say their goodbyes and leave.

After Mahindra has left, the family reacts to the visit. Jati bua, anxious as ever to see her plan succeed and ruin Chand's life because she knows she loves Parth, goes to Nilkant and says that she fears the relationship will be broken because of their hesitation to commit right away. The mother objects to the marriage to Nilkant, that why do we need to marry her off and with someone who has a child already. Nilkant says that we have a weakness and we have to consider that also. (I can't believe him, he acts like it's the 18th century and Chand weighs 300 pounds) He says that Mahindra is well off and will keep Chand happy.

Upstairs, Chand is sitting with her sisters in a room, lamenting the fact that her marriage is being fixed and what can she do about it. Her sisters are trying to support her. Veera tells Chand that she will go stand up for her with Nilkant. Back in the living room, Jati bua tells Nilkant to agree to it right away, that who else is going to marry Chand in her situation? she pressures Nilkant into giving them an answer. Veera goes downstairs and tells Nilkant, that Chand has a very weak heart and on top of that Mahindra has a very small child of his own, these factors are reasons enough for Chand not to marry him. Then Nilkant gets mad, basically tells her to quit it, go from there and send Chand as he wants to talk to her.

Then upstairs Veera brings Chand to Nilkant and then he sends Veera away, saying he needs to speak with her alone. He tells her loudly, that if you have a problem then keep silent. He asks her what she told Mahindra when they had all gone. Then Chand tells him she didn't tell Mahindra anything, it was Mahindra who told her to think about it, etc. finally, Nilkant tells Chand, you are a daughter so you have nothing to think about. And gives her an ultimatum, that if you try to end this relationship, your father is dead to you and will be ashamed of you etc. (nice little guilt trip there, dad)

Later Veera tries to console Chand and says that Mahindra seems like a reasonable sort, don't keep the truth from him, he will understand. Chand later meets him at a restaurant for tea and tells him everything, about bombay and about how she loves Parth but doesn't know whether or not he loves her. Mahindra offers her his cell phone and tells her to call Parth and find out, which she does. When Chand calls Parth's house, the servant answers and says that Master Parth has gone to the temple.

So then Chand goes to the temple, where we see the back of Parth. He turns around and comes face to face with Chand. Chand tells him that Krishna didi told me that you were here. you didn't go away. He said, no i had something to take care of. Then she gets upset. Parth seeing this, asks Chand why she is upset and she relates to him the situation, how she is going to be engaged to a man who lost his wife and has a small child and how she doesn't want this marriage. Parth gets mad and says, tell them you don't want it. Then Chand says, they are going to say who else is going to marry you. Parth says you can tell me anything Chand it's ok. So then Chand drops the bomb on him and tells him she loves him. Then the camera pans on Parth's face, who looks shellshocked, then back to Chand's face then back to Parth. The scene ends.

What will happen in the next episode? Will Parth confess his feelings for Krishna? Or will Nilkant have an attack of scruples? What will happen in Veera and Vedant's love story? Catch the show tomorrow at its new time on Star Plus.

(have to say this was a boring episode except for the last part at the temple)
