Hi guys!

I'm back with a second OS! I am uber excited for the future of AdiYa and the following story was inspired by the latest promo. I started off by just writing this as a boredom buster but then decided I may as well share it with all of you. Apologies for any mistakes, especially with the Hindi 😕

~~~
"Nahin! Main tumhe chodd kar nahin jaunga! Iss baar nahin..."
"Aditya please! Humari baat ko samajhne ki koshish kijiye. Yeh teek nahin hai. Hum aapke aage darkhwaast karte hain, aap yahan se chale jayein, Ammi ya Abbu ko neend se jaag aayi to?!"
"Kya teek nahin hai?! Bepannaah mohabbat ki hai tumse...nibhani toh padegi" he flashed her that infuriating smirk that she could never resist.
He moved closer to her and she seemed to lose the ability to speak. His proximity made her weak at the knees and she felt something unfurl in the pit of her stomach as his breath fanned her face. His intense eyes darkened and drank her in with a burning desire. Aditya clutched Zoya by the waist and pulled her towards him so that her body collided with his. Her hands dropped on to his muscular chest and she could feel the beat of his heart. The heat emanating from him threatened to melt her. She looked back into his eyes with the same desire and whispered back almost fearfully, "Humne bhi ki hai...aapse bepannaah mohabbat". Using these words as an invitation, Aditya bent his head down and locked his lips with hers in a passionate kiss. The last fibre of her resistance broken, Zoya wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back.
12 months earlier...
After bidding their final goodbyes to their dead husband and wife, Aditya and Zoya felt the heavy burden of hurt and betrayal starting to lift from their hearts. Although what their partners had done to them was wrong and could not be justified, they had decided to forgive them. Forgetting would not be as easy, but this was a step in the right direction towards a brighter future.
They stood up to leave.
Aditya stared out over the lake and wiped his eyes, he was feeling better but he was still broken into a million pieces. He now needed to look forward and start to put himself back together. Only he could do this, he had been betrayed by too many people in his life and he wasn't about to rely on anyone else anytime soon. He had to pull himself out of this and move on. He deserved to be happy. He also needed some introspection on this path to happiness and self-improvement. The best way to do this was to completely close this chapter, and maybe that meant staying away from Zoya too. Her presence in his life had become an 'aadat' for him, and he didn't know how he was going to cope without her, but he was scared that he would never be able to move on if he didn't break this 'aadat'. He was also worried for her, he wanted to be by her side for any hardships she may face. However he had seen her inner strength and knew that she would be just fine. Zoya was delicate and sensitive but definitely not weak. Now he had to be strong. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.
"I think humara safar yahin tak ka ta" he said turning to face her, trying to keep his voice steady.
"Aap aage hum se touch mein nahin rahenge?" Zoya asked turning away from the lake to look at him with a slightly surprised look on her face.
He gave her a sad smile. "Koshish toh karenge, lekin taqdeer pata nahin kahan leh jaye"
"Taqdeer hi humein yahan tak lekar aayi hai. Aur aage bhi, taqdeer hi milvaye gi" she said with a kind of resilient defiance.
She had come to truly cherish Aditya's friendship and felt a knot in her stomach at the thought of him disappearing from her life all together. However she understood that it made sense for them to now go their separate ways. But she also believed that their kismet was entertwined, and if the universe willed it, then they would definitely meet again. This experience had broken her down to nothing but it had also taught her to build herself back up and become a stronger person. Of course she now realised that Aditya was a fundamental catalyst to this new found courage and she would forever be indebted to him for this. They had their differences but at the end of the day, she knew that she could trust him to always have her best interest at heart, just as she did for him. She also needed to carve a new path for herself. She was done relying on the people around her to create a fairytale life for her to live in. She needed to stop living a life clouded by delusion, face the world head on, and make it her own.
"Hum Allah se dua karenge ki aap ko woh har khushi miley jo aap deserve karte hain. Humne ek baar pehle be kaha ta, aap ek acche insaan hain. Aap sirf ek acche betey aur bhai hi nahin hain, lekin hume yakeen hain ki aap ek acche pati bhi te. Aur aapse accha dost to koi ho hi nahi sakta" she gave him a smile, trying to hide the tears that threatening to spill from her eyes. Her heart was aching and she wanted to say more but knew that she wouldn't be able to without breaking down.
Aditya did not say anything as he could feel his resistance faltering.
Zoya gathered her inner strength and stretched out her hand. "Chalo hum dost hone ke naate aapko khushi khushi se vida kaarte hain" she said trying to lighten the mood.
Aditya let out a soft chuckle and raised his hand to meet with hers.
"Lekin vaada kijiye. Ke kabhi bhi aapko humari zaroorat padi, aap humse maddat mangne se kabhi peeche nahin hatenge."
"Zoya main..."
"Please Aditya, vaada kijiye" her face turned serious and her eyes pleaded with him.
He sighed. "Teek hai, I promise. Aur agar tumhe bhi kabhi meri zaroorat padi...toh mujhe yaad mat karna" He said, a sly grin creeping up on his face. He could never resist teasing her.
"Really Aditya?! Aap bhi na! Kitne khoobsurat moment ko ruin kar diya..."
"Yaar mazaak kar raho hoon. Seriously, if you ever need me, tumhe pata hai, main hoon. Par main yeh bhi jaan ta hoon ki tum har museebat ka samna kar paaogi, kyunki tum kamzor nahin ho."
They gazed at each other hand in hand with smiles on their faces and both of them wanted this moment to last just a little bit longer, as neither of them could muster up the strength to let go.
A bird's squawk startled them back to reality and they detached their hand from each other.
"Ok, well, I guess this is goodbye" Zoya felt a lump rising in the back of her throat.
"Goodbye Zoya" Aditya forced a small smile with clenched teeth to distract himself from the sting in his eyes.
"Goodbye Aditya"
And with that they both turned, heavy-hearted, to venture out on this new phase in their lives. Wondering as they walked away, if and when they would ever see each other again.
Fate, as they say, is out of our hands. Fate would bring them together again.
In fact later that same day...
Walking aimlessly through the monsoon rains of Mumbai, he reflected on the events over the last 3 months. He felt a sense of helplessness, a lack of direction. Something had broken inside him that he did not think could ever be repaired, and if it could, he didn't know where to start. He had never felt so alone.
He felt something hit the back of his leg. He turned and looked down to see a rogue umbrella that had escaped in the wind. He picked it up and looked around for the owner.
And there she was...his heart skipped a beat. He had not expected to see her again so soon.
She was dancing in the rain with some school children, carefree and an expression of bliss on her face. Seeing her like this made his heart soar, it gave him hope. Hope for the future. Hope at a chance for happiness. For the first time in months, he could see a light at the end of the tunnel. The rain continued to pour down on him, and rather than it being irksome, it now felt like it was washing away the build up of pain and despair that had been clogging up his soul. He felt like he could breathe again. How did he ever think that he needed to cut Zoya out of his life? She was the reason that he had not become completely derailed these last few months. She was his friend...probably his best friend. Seeing her smile, made him smile, it made the world seem like a more beautiful place. He had been so sure in his decision to move on with his life without her, but looking at her now he realised that he had been foolish to think so.
He walked towards her and she glanced up and spotted him. Her face broke out in the most beautiful smile he had ever seen. For the first time since he had met her, her smile reached her eyes and she seemed to radiate a light so pure that he was awestruck. She looked genuinely happy to see him and he felt like his heart was glowing.
"Aditya! Aap yahan?!"
"Woh tumhara umbrella tumse bhaag kar mere paas aa gaya tha"
She let out a laugh "Humne kaha tha na? Taqdeer hi humein milaye gi"
"In that case, tum isse hamesha apne saath hi raka karo, iss umbrella mein bohut taakat hai! Itni jaldi taqdeer ko mujhboor kar diya hum dono ko milaane mein!"
They both looked at each other and broke out into joyous laughter. It felt good to laugh so freely again.
"Accha suno, aap kal ko kya kar rahe ho?" Zoya asked as they recovered.
"Ab tak toh kuch nahin. Kyun?"
"Yaad hai, aapne humein jail mein promise kiya tha ki aap humein Chinese dinner khilayenge? Apna vaada nahin nibhaoge?"
"Main apne diye hue vaade kabhi todh ta nahin...of course, I know the perfect restaurant. Main tumhe kal raat 7 baaje lehne aaonga. Get ready to eat the best meal of you life!"
"Done!"
And so began their journey towards Bepannaah Mohabbat...
Fantastic OS - I really wish the s ends unfold like this on screen too.
Keep writing dear - will look for your next OS drawn from precaps or promos but that mesh seamlessly into the story ahead and give the show writers a run for their money. You should be writing for the show - do send this to them.
