Part 4

"You know the truth why don't you tell abbu and ammi about my condition." Zoya questioned her doctor.

They were chatting inside her abbu's study years ago they would look outside the same window facing the garden outside.

'Your citybred friend seems fascinated by the blessings of mother nature out here. Consider yourself lucky to be a hillstation child. Naushad said smilingly.

Zoya followed his eyes to the place under the fir tree where Aditya was lying down quietly with his hands at the back of his head. She had never seen him so contemplative, she wondered what he was thinking.

'Is he staying here? How is Wasim chacha taking that, I thought that the only boy he tolerated around you was me this excluded your husband' Naushad continued teasing Zoya.

"Bhaijaan", Zoya cut him short.

'My apology, I shouldn't have joked about Yash', Naushad cleared his throat.

"You are so smart bhaijaan you know very well how to avoid my question."

Zoya pointed out smiling again.

Naushad Rizvi was not only her cousin brother but also one of the most efficient medical practitioner in the country. He had decided to visit Mussorie just to study Zoya's case.

'Zoya, listen to me' Naushad had a serious tone all of a sudden, he knelt next to her looking straight into her eyes.

'I know what trials and tribulations you went through while in Mumbai. We have grown up together and I know how protectively you have been raised in this quiet beautiful town'.

Zoya smiled at him faintly.

'You and I both know that your battling low platelet counts'

"Sort of a cancer" Zoya corrected her brother smilingly.

Naushad let out a defeated breath but nevertheless clasped her face,

'the unknown driving force that made you fight and defeat the Mumbai weather and people will once again aid you in coming out victorious in your battle with this illness'

He kissed her forehead and Zoya closed her eyes fighting the urge to trace the source of her strength in Mumbai.

'By the way Aliya will be visiting her Zoya phuppi soon. She has been eagerly waiting for the visit.

It was the first time that Zoya's radiating smile had returned.

"Please bring her to me as earliest as possible" she requested politely.

With a nod of assurance Naushad left the room she attempted to stand a little by her own before assistance by her family rushed to the room. Zoya's head started to spin and her world blacked out.

Okok... I'll admit that I was a little apprehensive to read this fanfic because I know the book, and I know how sad it's ending is, but I couldn't help myself and read all the parts in one go, and it's absolutely brilliant! Your writing style is very different, where the chapters are short, but they convey exactly what they need to. You have a talent for focusing on exactly what you need to convey, without any added "masala". Now, coming to the story, I love Adi's need to be with Zoya and his concern for him jumps off the pages. I loved the little moments between AdiYa that ended up being so prevalent, like the fact that just being with Zoya has brought a semblance of peace in Adi's life, and how just seeing Adi made Zoya's pain go away! I love the story so far, and I can't wait to read the next part, so if it's not too much of a hassle, please do PM me! :)
