Chapter 2

"Zoya! Zoya! Zoooyaaa.. Aditya called out

"What is the matter why are you bringing the house down? responded Zoya, irritated

"Because you didn't respond to my calling pouted Aditya.

"Why would I shout to acknowledge your calling me, when I am headed towards you? You know that's not my habit asked Zoya.

"But you should. How am I to know if you've heard me or have decided to ignore me? said Aditya.

"You'll know if I am ignoring you. Don't you worry. As for responding to you by yelling back, that's not happening she said with certainty.

"But why? he asked.

"It's un-ladylike she said.

"It's what? He asked

"Un- LADYLIKE she resonded.

"Is that even a word? he asked.

"Mr. Pilot, you'd know if you had a habit of reading she said proudly

"Sure I would!, he said. They could go on with this forever.

"God! Does she even know basic English? And what the hell is un-ladylike, never heard of this word in my entire life, Meh, whatever, Zoya and her logic. He thought, exasperatedly.

"Said something Zoya said.

"Nope he answered.

"Then why did you call me? she asked.

"No reason he said.

"What the hell, Aditya? asked an annoyed Zoya

"Yeah, I know. Anyway, today we have to go for a party. It is a big event. All those people who Mr. Hooda would like to hobnob with are going to be there. So yeah, Be ready by 7pm. He said

"Why wou... she said, before being cut off mid-sentence.

"I know. I don't care too much for Mr Hooda. But these parties are entertaining as hell. I mean, the people who are attending are very entertaining. Plus, I woudn't mind a change of scene, you know. Said a mischievous Aditya.

"Ok. I'll be ready said Zoya.

"Cool, I'll see you then he told her.

"Where are you off too? she asked.

"Arjun's room. He replied.

"Why? she asked

"Coz my life, my rules. he said unabashedly

"What on earth? she exclaimed

"Video game time, Zoya! he said.

"Oh! Ok she replied

"Byeee Mrs Hooda saying this he sped off.

"Bye Aditya she waved.

She shook her head in disbelief. She has a husband who is a 13 year old trapped in the body of a 25+ year old man's body. She knew fully well of the entertainingpeople Aditya spoke of. The only reason he founf them entertaining was because he got to make fun of them without them realising it. It was quite funny. The people had risen up the ranks in politics but all were illiterate goons. "Hmm... entertainment it is she thought mischievously.

That day, late in the evening

She wore in a plum/deep red saree. It suited her very well. She had parted her hair such that they all fell on one shoulder. She was a sight to behold.

Anyone who saw her would drown in her beauty. If not anyone else, Aditya was spellbound by her. It wasn't only about her physical beauty that left him floored. Not only was she elegant, she was also stately and graceful. It came to her naturally. He liked that in a person.

Aditya on the other hand was dressed on a black suit with a white shirt with an open collar, looking dapper as usual. The handsome lad, walked hand in hand with his wife.

As they walked into the party, they glanced at each other and smiled. For Aditya and Zoya, the feeling of being husband wife hadn't sunk in. they were still getting use to the change in their life. On the other hand, they were comfortable in each other's presence. they had each other as a support, in their journey of life. it gave them peace.

"Hello hello ji, Aditya Zoya... aao ji aao, kaise ho tum dono? asked the host. He was an old man. Maybe in his 70's. fit as a fiddle with all his senses intact.

"Hum bilkul theek hai, aap kaise hain? answered Aditya

"Very goodji very good. "Comfort yourself the old man responded. They smiled awkwardly

"Did he mean make yourself comfortable'? asked Zoya

"Yup, That's what he meant said Aditya, stifling a laugh

"Don't laugh. He is trying to be nice said Zoya

"I know. But you have to agree, it was quite funny, I mean comfort yourself', I like that

Zoya turned away, trying to hide her smile. They began meeting people.

"Isn't she Waseem Siddiqui's daughter? said someone (lets call her Ms A)

"Oh yes, she is. What was her name? Zara, Zoya, Zehra...? (lets call her Ms B)

"Zoya. She is Zoya and the younger one is Noor. said Ms A

"Yeah, Zoya. said Ms B

"Wasn't she the one who ran away to get married? asked Ms A, condescendingly.

"Yeah. She had a falling out with her father. Also, her husband died in accident. There were rumours that he'd left her for another woman. answered Ms B

"Hmm, I heard that too. Said Ms A

"Now she has married, Aditya Hooda. The son of the famous lawyer, Harshvardhan Hooda. Added Ms B

"Yes yes, I heard. She is one lucky girl. I always thought she'd marry someone from her own community. This would have helped mend ties with her family. But I guess not elaborated Ms A

"Excuse me!"
