'Adi focus on the road'' he told himself but even after trying so hard Aditya couldn't focus on anything else except Her! He again went back to the moment...
The room was full of investors and clients and Zoya and Adi being the owners, had to somehow convince them to give them at least 6 months to give them their money back and not shut down the company. He was amazed by how Zoya spoke with confidence and did not shed a single drop of tear! yes she hesitated and stumbled but he noticed that something was keeping her go on but he did not understand what.
He got back to reality.
'Wajah jo bhi ho finally yeh ladki confident ho rahi hai mujhe aur kuch karna pare ga taaki iski andaar se saari daar chali jai aur apne apko woh sambhal saake'' Adi told himself
On the other hand, Zoya was walking on the road with Mahi, it was already quite late and dark.
'Har jaaga kitna andhera hai'' said Mahi
'Lekin iss andhere main bhi roshni ki ek kiran hai'' said Zoya looking up at the dim street light under which she was standing, and she also got back into the moment when she was surrounded by all the investors and clients shooting her with one question after another she had no idea what she will do, what she will say. She closed her eyes and then she heard a voice
"Zoya'' even amidst the chaos she could hear that assuring voice. She opened her eyes and looked beside her, Adi was looking directly into her eyes. His eyes spoke everything that she wanted to hear, his eyes reminded her of all the words he told her before and within the next moment her mouth worked on its own, even she didn't know she had this much confidence in her.
'Zoya'' Mahi gave her a tab, 'kaha khoyi ho''
She came back to reality, 'kuch nahi'' she said shaking her head.
The two girls were walking alone on the road. Zoya was not ashamed to admit that she felt a bit scared and her fear was not totally vague because after a minute or so half a dozen bikers came in front of them. She held Mahi's hand tightly and mahi gave a smirk and thought to herself 'aj ke baad se iski andaar pura daar bat jayega''
One of the bikers took off his helmet and started walking towards Zoya.
'Yah Allah rehem'' mumbled Zoya
The biker gave a vicious smile and was about to touch her cheek...Zoya was shaking horrible and she closed her eyes. When she opened it she found a tall, broad-shouldered man in maroon leather jacket standing in front of her or rather shielding her from the evil. Adi looked back at her and immediately she gave a sigh of relief. He pushed the guy back and asked the girls to go away while he kept on beating them one after the other.
'Zoya chalo'' Mahi said angrily, her plan had failed.
'Mahi woh'' she pointed towards Adi who was alone struggling with the goons, 'hum unhe akela chor ke nahi jayenge''
Mahi was so angry she snapped at her 'Thik hai tou phir dono milke khelo yaha WWE'' saying this she shrugged off her hand and left.
Zoya was stumped seeing her behavior, but she did not had time to think of it she looked around at Adi who was still fighting with them and she could clearly see he was on the losing side. She was about to advance towards him when a goon hit Adi hard on his head with a steel rod.
'Aditya'' she screamed, he held his head with both his hand. Blood was dripping from the back of his ear and Zoya could see that. He was in severe pain and everything in front of his eyes were getting blurry, soon he fell on the ground and all the goons were beating and kicking him. Adi was not able to move at all and was feeling very helpless. Zoya was stunned. It was dark road and the only dim light was flickering. He was about to lose his conscious but then he saw something different. Suddenly he saw fire on top of head and the goons immediately moved back, indeed one of the goon's shirt was on fire.
'Ay pagal aurat kya kar rahi ha'' screamed the goons.
Adi with lots of effort looked around and saw Zoya with a big thick wooden stick with fire at the end.
'Haat jai varna hum sabko jala denge'' Zoya shouted and advanced towards the goons. All of them ran fearing their life.
Despite of being in such severe pain, Adi was smiling.
Zoya threw the stick and went to Adi. She took his head and put it on her lap. They were both under the dim light which was not flickering anymore. The entire road was dark but there was light on Aditya and Zoya and it was the brightest light anyone had ever seen.
'Jhansi ki rani'' said Adi
'Chup rahi yeh!! Allah apka kitna khun behra hai, dard ho raha apko'' said Zoya keeping her hand on his chest, near his heart.
'Ab nahi'' said Adi and his eyes closed
Zoya somehow managed to take him to the hospital and was sitting beside his bed looking at Aditya, who was unconscious, very closely. She kept thinking about all those moments when intentionally or unintentionally he came to her rescue, be it by his harsh words, assuring looks, taunts or physical action. One way or other he was always there. Slowly she touched his hand, but soon she closed her hand around his and placed her head beside his, on the pillow.
Zoya did not know why she did that but she only knew that it gave her the peace she had been searching for months.
In the morning when the nurse came in she saw Zoya sleeping beside Aditya and both were holding each other's hand and the ray of Sun was directly falling on them. She did not say anything and left leaving them in their peace.
