I know what you mean😆I don't believe in love at first sight and/or falling in love at the speed of light (😕) which is why I mostly dislike movies that have such stories😆😕But yeah.. in this case I like how he made it very clear that all he wants to do is to "move on, forget whatever happened and find true love". Maybe that's why he completely forgot about Pooja's diary, and instead is so focused on Zoya's reactions😆*facepalm*

But yeah I think he definitely cares for her, and he has starting falling for her. Maybe that's what. Zoya is the only one (apart from poor Arjun😆) who he can connect/feel good with. So maybe your mom is right.. he was selfish because he wanted that one person, who went through the exact same betrayal, who is the only one who he can share his grief with, who he definitely subconsciously cares about - to not leave. So yeah they are not yet at the station of love but the train has definitely departed😆
