As the genre of the show is thrill and mystery it is very much possible there's something more to the eyes.

I personally want that to be the case here. Though promos have been hinting about extra marital affair ever since, it might be possible that the two of them were just good friends or confidante, may be partners in business (or crime, I'd love if it goes that way). Since we're just starting out, I'll see how it unveils before reserving a judgment of them...
