Or, he calls him Mamoo because that is what he grew hearing. I have friends who call my mom mami, because that is what they heard my cousins growing up (we stayed at my place a lot). This way, even though you don't have a relation, it forms and you learn to respect it in the same way, as if it was always there... I hope that makes sense.
