Hi everyone. I'm new to this show and got so addicted that I watched episodes 1-96 in less than 3 days. There was so fast forwarding for the nonsense filler scenes so it made the time go by fast.
The one thing that I love about this show is that the elders in the family are so "respectful". They keep on talking about respect for women even if they don't allow women in their house to work and that the women are the strength and glue of the family.
And I loved the scene where priyom's bhabi requests of her husband to let their daughter study for as long as she wishes too. Beautiful scene even if he is a cheating bas***d.
So with all of that said the complete turn off and yet so hypnotically addicting are the scenes with Lakhan. Yes he is an illiterate gangster. So allowances must be made, but for someone to have come from a family where women are treated with respect his behaviour is more shameful and unforgivable. ( but he's very hot so we tend to allow him more latitude because of that).
When someone comes from a family where all they have seen is disrespect of their womenfolk then and they themselves are uneducated it is a bit more understandable for how they treat others, although still not right. BUT for lakhan to treat poonam as a possession , as someone who should be there at his beck and call it makes it so much more frustrating to watch.
He's been told by everyone that a wife is not a "ghulam" but he doesn't care and that what's leads me to my frusterstion at today's episode
How does he have the audacity to tell her that the relationship needs to be equal when he treats her like a slave, who should follow commands but never voice her own opinion. She can't even go to bed on her own when she is clearly exhausted until he comes to bed.
How does one inspire love when they are treating the one they love worse than the household servants. As if she's a dressed up doll to have no say no desires no wishes.
Doesn't make sense.
That's one thing that Priyom knows how to do. He knows how to read her eye, read her body language and know what she is thinking or what she wants to say before she is even able to say it.
Those scenes that show how much respect and love and esteem he showers onto her are such a pleasure to watch.
Lakhan definitely has the better body and holds me captivated on the screen. I am breathlessly waiting for his scenes. BUT what I want to eventually see are this amazing hunk treating his wife as a human being, as a cherished and respected wife and well then Priyom is just going to have to find someone else.
Although what happens if poonam loses her fear. I'm scared to watch when that happens OR if it ever happens.
