Things I wanna see on Begusarai!

Hey everyone! 😊

So, I was away from this forum because of exams and I am back now.

Caught up with Begusarai and I gotta say that I stopped watching it in between during the whole Picnic to Patna phase. IMO, the show is focusing too much on PriNam and it's getting a little boring for me.

The show needs to go back to that raw and gritty phase when it focused on everyone in the show, mazedaar characters like Bindiya, Maya, Mithlesh and Lakhan. I wanna see some of the social issues in Begusarai tackled instead of PriNam love crisis all the time. Also, I tried to give PriNam a chance, and I'm sorry, but they bore me. I think they are better off as friends.

These are the things I wanna see on Begusarai:

1. Poonam vs Lakhan: I want this to be a proper battle between the voice of freedom- Poonam and male chauvinism- Lakhan. I want Poonam to grow into a strong force to be reckoned with and fight Lakhan on his own. Someone needs to show him that people are not just pawns for him to be used as and when he wants.

2. Maya and Mithlesh: I want Maya to have more screen space and for us to see more of her struggles with Mithlesh's personality and his attitude towards her.

3. Larger role for Bindiya: Bindiya is one of the most powerful characters of the show and she is woefully underutilised for now. She can be a complex, multilayered character who brings depth to the story. So, I hope the CVs don't turn her into a run-of-the-mill vamp and just leave her to be the obstacle in the PriNam love story.

4. Ensemble cast: Lastly, this show has an ensemble cast and the CVs should be able to rotate the storyline to highlight each character's story. They did it before, so I have no doubt they can do it again.

Agreed. Priyom should be more like a mentor in her life. I loved that 'bird in the cage' scene of theirs. They are better off as friends. They don't have romantic chemistry, in my opinion.

BTW, just a clarification, by Poonam vs Lakhan, I don't mean LaKham at all. I want Poonam to fight against that monster and come out on top.

As for romance, sahi kaha yaar. Begusarai was never pitched as a romance show and forgive me, but these people don't do romance well. It's just boring.

I want Begusarai to go back to being the rural gangland story. That's what it is and all this love-shuv has no place in it. The CVs need to balance it out. Hamesha PriNam vs Lakhan dikhane ka koi matlab nahi hai. I want Bindiya vs Priyom or Bindiya vs Lakhan.

Yeah, Priyom Poonam ka mentor ho sakta hai, but they have no romantic chemistry. Maybe Poonam's crush on him can be treated as a coming-of-age story for Poonam and she can eventually get over it. Right now, I don't think the focus should be on love for Poonam. The CVs should focus on her career and her fightback against patriarchy.

I am also rooting for a Lakhan/Poonam face-off, from the moment the engagement was broken. I am literally irritated and bored with her confused & dukhiyaari ablaa naari avataar, who only knows to do ronadhona and girgiraofy. Seems she has very easily forgotten that Lakhan owns so much from her by the virtue of his consistent psychotic behavior for so many years !!!

Maya should definitely get more screen-space as that character is having so much potential for growth. The poor soul is having a tougher and more miserable life than Poonam. But the creatives have reduced her to a bahu, who either serves tea, does puja or worries about others.

Regarding Bindiya, I had the impression that she has got her own house as per PT's order. But now-a-days she and Gungroo consistently sneak anywhere, even into Thakur household, without being noticed by any damned person and eavesdrop every important conversation 😔 !!! And right now, her sole purpose is to be an over-smart & over-confident KMH for probable Priyom/Poonam love-story, so that she can get hold of Priyom by hook or crook. She (sorry, the creatives) seems to be oblivious of the fact that there are other means as well to get the much coveted throne instead of "to become Mrs. Priyom Thakur by any mean".

Less said about Phulan Thakur is the better. He hardly gets screen-space now-a-days. And if he does, then he is consistently being portrayed as almost an idiot in order to convert Bindiya's evil plans as successes. It seems that the creatives has sent his grey cells as well as his presence of mind to an indefinite vacation !!

Lakhan has been converted into a monster. I would, on any day, have preferred his grey-shaded avataar than this non-redeemable one. Anyways, it's the creatives' choice.

Regarding Priyom/Poonam chemistry, I still think that is there (I have noticed one or two rare sparks here and there). But illogical and absurd tracks are actually destroying it mercilessly. I can only hope that the creatives come up with something indigenous and intelligent with these two and that too pretty soon. Otherwise, their story would be doomed even before it has got a kick-start. And anyway, as right now going by the story-line and characterizations, it does not seem probable that there would be a new guy for Poonam, the choice is either Priyom or Lakhan only !!!

Bindiya- Yeah, a once very interesting Bindiya has just been reduced to third wheeling in between PriNam. The Cvs should make her branch out. After all, she is my favourite character. I wanna see her make some legitimate attempts to get the throne of Begusarai. If her goal is to get to Priyom, then she have more scenes with him where she attempts to get to him. So many PriNam scenes are creating a bottleneck for all other storylines. It's time for the CVs to shift focus. I didn't watch any of the Patna episodes.

Lakhan- He is irredeemable. No hope for him. Total monster. LakhAm is just inconceivable now.

@bold-For now, I don't see Poonam with either of them, TBH. I think the focus should be on her life and talents right now. She is too young for marriage- just in college. I don't wanna see her married to anyone so soon. If it is Lakhan, then I hope the Cvs portray it as the abusive relationship it is and have her break free of it.
