All I am saying is ITV did not build its reputation or popularity because it was historically accurate but because it put out stuff that caught up to people. You and I can argue and spew arguments that would put our barrister babu and bondita to shame. But that is the extent of it.

You, child, are free to say what you like in whatever way you like. It's a free world. My apologies if I caused you any sort of agitation or stood in the way of your RIGHTS/DUTIES as a viewer.

Tark se fark padhta hai aur ummeed karti hu ki apke tarko se fark sachh me aa jaye.

I never blamed you for anything. I was just putting forward my point.

The hypocrisy of certain viewers when Show makers distort SCIENCE vs HISTORY is really infuriating. Humanitarian Subjects are seen as ones which can be easily bend according to people's whims and fancies and I am sorry its infuriating me.

I think it's safe to say both science and history gets royally effed in Indian shows. I agree on the hypocrisy. I don't know, maybe, it's the intangible nature of humanitarian subjects that let people to do these fantastical mistakes. The anger and outrage is fine. It is needed. Questioning and pointing out errors will only lead to better results. Keep questioning but not driven by anger or some other strong emotions. It's still a show.

And no, you didn't blame me but I felt I offended you somehow. So I apologized. My points however valid or invalid they are, should not stifle anybody else's.

@red: which is scary! People get inspired /influenced because of the content in the show. Imagine what impact does it leave when weird and incorrect facts are shown on the screen😕

Good to hear that I m not the only one who found it really weird to see such irrelevant history from a show that's too from a high class shashi sumeet ph !

I was doing research where I found lots of stuff , so let me tell you that the first female barrister was Cornelia Sorabji and she became at that time earlier , plus I read lots of woman movements happened during that time especially 1920s ! Gandhiji references was okay but they are showing too old him ??

Where is Raja Ram Mohan Roy Aurobindo , Rabindranath tagore etc they did so much for woman's and the makers didn't pay a attention to these ? What is the use of such serials when you can't show the realism especially I have read that at this era many woman's school were established many woman were getting education...

Research team mangta hai woh bhi kadak ! Set se kaam ni chalega they research so much about their set stuff I saw their set tour iv then how can they lacks in history stuff ?

Very disappointed with ssp .

The show is about Bon becoming first barrister of Tulsipur, not in India.

Exactly my point as well. Rabindranath Tagore could have been so easily shown as a better example. He has always been the epitome of women emancipation and modern education.

As a person educated in West Bengal, I have read countless of his poems and short stories which often have mentions of women with minds of their own and fighting against dowry, casteism, Sati, segregation of widows etc. (Watch Stories by Rabindranath Tagore on Netflix if you find time)

Tagore had western education and he was knighted. Also 1918 was the last year when Tagore had his knighthood, which he gave up in 1919 due to Jallianwala bagh massacre. His interaction with Aniruddh or even Bondita could have been so enlightening about the pros and cons of western education. A great opportunity wasted.

Gandhiji rose to nationwide fame only after 1920 non-cooperation movement, before which he was not that huge a celebrity that even politically unaware kids talk about him.

Good morning friends and our wise BB members. 🤗

Please friends, be patient and let us discuss the historical facts and the fictional depiction of the BB story, while to move the story forward, they are mentioning a few historical facts mixed with a tinge of hazy narration. Let us be calm and cool for a while.

We are very much here for you, to listen and to define the historical facts if necessary.

BTW I am very happy seeing the knowledge and awareness our members are showing here. Please give us time to understand your viewpoint friends. 🤗

1. Britishers weren't in awe of Gandhiji in 1918.

2. He returned to India in 1915 and these were his initial years. Non Cooperation and Civil Disobedience Movements are yet to happen which actually got him a big following.

3. He shaved his head in 1921 during his South Indian trip and started using Khaadi to relate to the poor people.

4. He was just 49 years old in 1918.

5. A British School would never be allowed to invite Gandhiji and allow him to kind of promote the propoganda to overthrow the British rule.

6. Gandhiji held a view that women shouldn't come out and indulge in freedom fights.

7. He wanted women to be educated only because, if a women is educated the kids will have an educated mother, not for anything else. He believed women were made to look after house and children.

8. They completely ignored the existance of Raja Ram Mohan Roy (who died in late 1833) who did considerable work against Sati Practice, whereas he should have been remembered by Aniruddh who married a girl and committed to her for lifetime to save her from Sati.

9. Makers are acting as if MKG had no job but to hover around Calcutta and West Bengal and there existed no other freedom fighters who were authentic Bengalis.

Cultural:

1. No one wears typical South Indian clothes everyday, that too in Calcutta no matter how religiously South Indian you are.

2. The so called South Indian boy, let alone say Tamizh, cannot even pronounce Tamil properly.

3. Ille ille is not the only thing in tamil language as far as I know (its not my mother tongue still I understand it)

Nonsense.

I completely agree with all the points you have raised

if they claim this is fictional show then why a real character is given so much importance. I feel this whole ji track is not required ita so streched

importance of education can be taught via other means too and Bondita after her achievements of varnmala is already motivated to study.

this way by presnting wrong facts and putting wrong viewpoint of historical character is really sad.

I dont feel interested enough to watch.

I agree on the south Indian part as well and its only Tamilian who are south India there are other cultures as well in south India

I think creatives really need to do better this track is over streached and boring.
