Chapter 4:Una Propuesta Única

To divert his mind off Saurabh and his words he looked over his surroundings and his eyes fell over a mango tree in one corner of the garden. He was sitting on the bench as he looked over the mango tree. The mango tree had so many memories. Though he had planted it but his love used it. Bondita would climb it up just get the mangoes in her childhood while he just admired her from afar. His brothers would reprimand her to climb down but she would sit on the branch being blissfully unaware of her surroundings. Those days he missed a lot. His Bondita and her mischief.

Bondita walked in as her anklets made noise. She looked over the garden to spot her mango tree. Yes, her mango tree. Though it was planted by Anirudh she used it instead of him. He had indirectly given it to her. When Batuk had tried to climb the tree Anirudh had reprimanded him and said that the tree was of Bondita. She still remembered the first and the last time he took her name. though he didn’t say that in front of her but he did say it. Smiling widely, she started walking over the mango tree. She was so deeply engrossed in his thoughts that she didn’t realise he was sitting on the bench a few feet away from the tree. But suddenly her foot came in contact with a stone near the bench and lost her balance due to which she fell in his lap. She closed her eyes in fear of colliding with the ground

Anirudh who was deeply engrossed looking over the tree for a moment got surprised when she fell in his lap but then he got mesmerised seeing his love in his arms. Seeing her with closed eyes and waiting for the impact of the ground he smiled at genuine smile. He was so close to her. He was having a hard time controlling his urges to just take her and make her his. He clenched his fists so that they stop themselves from caressing her face.

Bondita who had closed her eyes in fear of falling down now felt confused why the impact didn’t come. She opened her eyes to see the most spectacular view in the world. Her Anirudh smilingly so genuinely. Smiling not smirking as he looked over her. She unknowingly smiled seeing his happiness. His smile was just amazing. She was never a witness to it. But now that she is, she couldn’t stop but stare. But it dawned her that she fell in his lap. Embarrassed she quickly got up and stammered, “I am sorry, actually…” she started but stopped seeing his intense gaze

His trance broke listening to her sweet melodious voice. He now realised she was actually here and he was smiling seeing her. He also got up and looked up intensely at her silencing her. “What are you doing here?” He asked trying to keep a stoic face. Seeing the red tint on her face it was getting a lot harder. He just wanted to take her in his arms and cage her in his room. “Trilochan kaka and Baba have gone to the study room with Binoy kaka to talk something about their business or something. Trilochan kaka told me that if I am feeling bored then I should come here. I am sorry actually I was lost in my thoughts looking over at that mango tree. I am…….” Bondita spoke out nervously but Anirudh interrupted her and said, “Its okay Bondita, I understand. It wasn’t deliberate, you weren’t that careful that’s why your balance got disrupted and you fell. Its okay. Okay I need to go now. Will see you later.” He then got up and left. While Bondita was just looking at his back. After he left her line of sight did, she turn around and walked towards the tree. Her heart was thundering remembering how close she and Anirudh were sometime back. She just smiled bashfully while looking at the mango tree. Actually, their mango tree.

The study rooms

Dibakar Sengupta was a bit confused at to why did Trilochan ask him for a private chat. They shared each and every secret or business-related words at ease with Bondita present in the room then why was it different today? He knew it was going to be something big but what?

Trilochan Roy Chaudhary was excited but equally scared. He hadn’t consulted with his younger brother before taking this decision. He knew that this decision was a decision of extreme importance as it could change the fates pf the two families.

“Dibakar, I am going to be very straightforward with you about this. I have always seen Bondita as my daughter. I will always think about her happiness and good will. Please don misunderstand my decision. I wouldn’t mind if you disagree but remember I would never think anything bad for Bondita…….” Trilochan Kaka rambled.

“Trilochan, stop talking in circles and come to the main point. What is it that you can’t talk in front of Bondita? And why will I misunderstand you? Obviously, whatever you decide for Bondita is going to be for her own good. You love her more than me.” Dibakar said with genuineness but there was a bitter feeling that his daughter was closer to his friend than him. He knew it was totally his fault but he couldn’t help his feelings.

Trilochan took a deep breath and said “I want Bondita to marry Anirudh. This is what I decided and this is what I desire.”

This was such an amazing part.. I had a hunch that Trilochan would bring about this proposal. The previous chapter hinted at this. And yet I still got so excited⭐️

I loved that small interaction of Anirudh and Bondita. The underlying passion is so exhilarating..☺️☺️

Both are pretentious and holding so much restraint in front of the other... it leaves my throat dry to think when they come to know that their intense feelings have always been reciprocated..☺️
