Driving sadistic pleasures has been a weakness for Anirudh for a few days now. He loved his wife’s defeated face when her logics caught her in an ugly middle position . Throwing her willingly in deep water he would derive his pleasure until and unless the confident lady would make meek requests. Meek - as in real. She had this nag of helping everybody in distress.
She had her first drink with Bihari Babu at the night of Christmas party two years ago. The poor househelp had spilled a Britisher’s wine -Sovern Blanc -to be particular. He underwent a strong bashing session in Anirudh and Bondita’s absence. What more you could expect from his insensitive family ? They saw it as a chance to upgrade themselves in front of the white men who rarely paid attention to there screechy and heavy Bengali accent. They would never understand that the British were just some greedy pups attracted to the gold on their shirts. Nothing in them could promise them a healthy companionship.
But Bondita has already decided to do something unexpected. She took all the imported wine , especially the one which had caused problem to Bihari Babu. She dragged him for a drink . Being the landlady , she cluttered the crockery and made the most royal drink for the house servant -laughing and drinking with joy. As her father-in-laws and husband descended the flight of stairs in amusement she did something obvious -CHEERS!!
Anirudh’s father lost his calm, but couldn’t do anything good of his anger. He stormed out of the room , mumbling and muttering unheard things , regretting having a Barrister as his daughter -in-law.
Anirudh was amused seeing everything. He laughed with a bit of jealousy . He wanted her to have her first drink with him. But the awkward awesomeness this scenario has created was worth paying a few hugs and kisses to his wife. Before he could say something he saw Bondita take dizzy steps towards him , with Bihari Babu taking refugee on the floor behind them. “Want to have some ?” Bondita asked before gulping the glass down her throat -half falling on her tongue and half falling on her lips . “Better I take it from you...” Anirudh announced and the rest is history.
