SHOT 2
âIf that is your decision, then I donât object. Moreover, Bondita is like my daughter.â Says Binoy.
âbut Aniruddh promised my daughter.â Said Bhaumik. It was objected by Binoy stating that he never promised anyone anything and was agreed by Aniruddh. Aniruddh also replied by saying he tried to distance himself and it was Saudamini who refused to give up.
Bhaumik and Binoy left the room and now the couple was left alone.
Bondita had infinite questions in her eyes. She chose to let him go, to have his happiness and now? He chose her? What? She saw Aniruddh staring at her intently, not being able to bear his scrutiny, she left the room.
Aniruddh saw Bondita looking at him with fire in her eyes. He couldnât take his eyes off her. The confession he wanted in their privacy, now it was all out in open in front of his family. He couldnât control himself and now he was worried again, about her reaction. Now her leaving the room in such a rushed manner fired up his worries and instinctively he ran behind her calling her name frantically.
Bondita rushed to her room and locked the door. Aniruddh had rushed behind her but failed to get inside the room on time. Aniruddh slammed the door with all his force asking her to open the door but no reply came. He was scared, scared of her rejecting him as a husband. But more than that he was concerned for her.
It was afternoon and Bondita came out to serve lunch and have lunch. Aniruddh was waiting outside for her since the past 2 hours. As she came out Aniruddh jumped in front of almost scaring her as she took a step back.
âI need to talk to you Bondita.â stated Aniruddh. But Bondita paid no heed to his request and went down to eat. Now Aniruddh knew requesting wonât work with this stubborn girl with whom he hopelessly fell in love with.
Bondita was in deep thoughts the last 2 hours. She knew Aniruddh said all that just because he leaving his namesake wife for Saudamini would not seem right for his principles. She didnât want him to suffer because of him. At least, thatâs what she thought. She didnât had the courage to talk about it with Aniruddh and that is the exact reason why she was ignoring him. She was stubborn, bold and always asked for her rights, but here she valued his happiness more. Much more than anything.
She was at the dining table with Batuk and Somnath with her. Binoy was yet to come. Suddenly Aniruddh barged into the scene. Bondita knew he was here but she kept looking at the table, ignoring his existence.
âArre, bhaiyya come sit. You might be tired after the mega confession. Arenât you?â Somnath asked with a giggle. But Aniruddh was in no mood to pay heed to his brothers teasing.
âBondita. I said I need to talk to you.â Aniruddh said.
Bondita gave him nothing but silence.
âCanât you hear me? I said I need to talk to you.â Repeated Aniruddh in a louder tone.
Bondita flinched at the noise but still, she didnât move from her place. Somnath was worried seeing this because he knew something wasnât well. His brother wasnât someone who got angry without any reason, in no way with his Boudi.
âSo you wonât listen to me? Bondita donât forget I can do anything, maybe I can repeat what I did above this morning. You want that?â threatened Aniruddh.
That made Bonditaâs head move upwards. She looked at Aniruddh unbelievably.
She stood up from her chairs and moved to Aniruddh. Then, looking down she replied; âWhat do you want Aniruddh babu?â Bonditaâs silent avatar was something which didnât go well with Aniruddh. That showed her being not comfortable with the situation because otherwise she never used to be silent with him.
âI will tell you.â Aniruddh said seriously. He held her hand and started walking upstairs. Bondita looked at her wrists and then her husband who was pulling her upstairs. Now she knew the confrontation was inevitable. She followed him quietly which pissed Aniruddh even more.
They reached their room upstairs and as they entered Aniruddh pushed the door and it closed with a thud. Aniruddh left Bonditaâs hand. Bondita was standing silent looking at the floor. Aniruddh was looking at her and his anger fired up even more laced with worry.
âWhat is up with you Bondita?â Asked Aniruddh.
Bondita replied: Nothing, âAniruddh Babu. Why do you think so?â
Aniruddh had enough. He took her on her waist and swung to pin her on the wall. Bondita was taken aback by the gesture and she had to look down to ignore Aniruddhâs gaze.
âLook at me Bondita.â Whispered Aniruddh as he leaned into her ears. Bondita shivered at the proximity. She couldnât help but look at him.
âI have never gave you a reason to ignore me or keep things from me. Then why are you doing this to me Bondita?â asked Aniruddh. âTell me whatâs bothering you.â
Bondita replied: âWhat are you doing Aniruddh Babu?â
âWhat did I do? I should ask this to you. Why are you ignoring me? If, if itâs about whatever I said, I also said I give you a choice. I am not forcing you, Tell me whatâs bothering you, please, please Bondita.â Aniruddh pleaded.
Bondita sighed. âI know Aniruddh Babu, you love Saudamini Didi. Please, please donât sacrifice more for me. You already did a huge one when you married me 10 years ago. I am already in debt to you. The sacrifices youâve done for me is already heavy, I canât handle more and you are doing all this on the cost of your happiness. Please donât.â Bondita said, tears lining up.
âWhat? Oh, so you think I am sacrificing my love not to feel guilty of leaving you. Tell me why would I? According to your theory I have protected you, educated you, and fought for you. Much wonât happen to you even if I marry Saudamini. Trust me, I am not sacrificing anything Bondita, anything.â Aniruddh noticed infinite questions in her eyes, but it was a different kind of fire burning in her eyes today. He continued; âAnd Bondita, you always asked me questions and now, I have learned to read your eyes.â He leaned into her face a bit more closer and ran his hands onto her waist, holding her tightly as he asked; âAsk me Bondita, I am more than ready to answer them.â
Bonditaâs mind were a havoc due to her husbandâs proximity. But she had to ask him questions, for a last time. âWhy, why did you say all those things to baba?â Asked Bondita.
âWhy? What kind of a question is that?â Aniruddh asked.
Bondita replied; âAniruddh Babu, You have done a lot for me, a lot more than anyone would do for anyone. I respect you a lot, I respect you more than anyone. And thatâs why I donât want you to be unhappy for life and be separated from whom you love. I donât want you to lie to baba about it, I want you to live happily Aniruddh babu. I thought I would never say this to you, but⌠but I love you but that doesnât give me the right to tie you in this bond when your heart belong to someone else, I canât restrict your happiness, seeing you happy is all I want, even if that means I have to let you go, your happiness Is awaiting you, that is Saudamini-â
âShhhâŚ.â Aniruddh silenced Bondita. He was ecstatic on a whole new level hearing her confession. At last, on the thought of losing him, she spoke up. He could feel his heart dancing. The happiness reflected in his eyes. But he had to remove her worries and woes.
âArre my mad cute stubborn wife Mrs. Bondita Das Chowdhary, what if I say my happiness resides here, near me, on my arms?â He raised his eyebrows.
âWhat?â asked Bondita amidst the tears that threatened to fall. One drop had already left her eyes.
âYou have made all these stories in your head. Use your brains not just for questioning and studying, use it a bit to understand your poor husband who-is- in- hopelessly loveâŚâHe leaned onto her eyes and kissed her tear away. Bondita was shocked beyond boundaries. Aniruddh continued; âwith you.!â
As Bondita got out of her shcck, she asked: âDoes that mean, you⌠youâŚâ Aniruddh was smirking because Bondita couldnât get to say that he loves her and the deep red shade on her cheeks was something which made Aniruddh really happy, especially when he was the one who smeared that colour on her, the colour of love.
âAsk me, ask questions as usual Bondita, what stops you today?â asked Aniruddh has he pulled her towards him from the wall where she was pinned by him. She involuntarily held his shoulders tightly. Aniruddh understood she couldnât ask him anything at this moment so he decided to help her.
He laughed and said; âYes, My Pagal Bondu, I love you⌠I love my wife, Mrs. Bondita Aniruddh Chowdhary, the way I would like it. Now can I get the answer to this proposal, dear wifey? I donât think itâs a crime⌠to love my wife. Woah! It feels so good to say it out loud, I love youâŚâ Aniruddh placed a kiss on her forehead, as the sign of his respect. ââŚmy wifeyâ
âhmm⌠reply?â asked Bondita.
Aniruddh nodded with a smile. But he could see mischief shining in her eyes. Even before he could decipher her intentions she kissed his cheeks.
âI love my husband, Mr. Aniruddh Roy Chowdhary, I love you!â said Bondita blushing.
âNowâŚ..â Aniruddh trailed his words as he drew designs on her wrist with his right hand, his other hand holding her by waist.
âHmmm?â asked Bondita, blushing furiously, but she was in her fierce form. Aniruddh leaned onto her, leaving inches between their faces and said; âcan we have lunch?â Bondita broke into laughter and slapped his shoulders and Aniruddh engulfed her into a hug. They were in the right place, the hearts were happy.
And that was the start of a new life for these two people linked together by destiny who were meant to bring a ray of hopeful sunshine to a conservative society and for each other. Their togetherness wasnât just of lust, love or attraction, it was of friendship, respect, admiration and many other feelings which bond them together forever, for eternity!
