Part Thirty
Amar returned to see the bed empty.
" Divya kahan ho tum?," he called out.
Suddenly the song Jaaniye from Dus Kahaaniya started to play.
Divya came out of the bathroom dressed in Amar's kurta and scarf..
He stared at her shocked.
" What in the world did they put in your food?," he asked.
Divya smiled. She took the scarf and grabbed him with it. She danced a bit before she felt sleepy.

Amar had to keep her up, besides he wanted to bandage her cut.
" Divya sit down, let me apply the bandage," he said.
She almost flipped back into prone position but he grabbed her and steadied her into a chair.
" Be careful," he urged.
She smiled. Whatever was in her food was making her feel drowsy one moment and intoxicated the next.
The kurti went down just above her knees.
Amar sprayed the antiseptic on her cut. She winced.
" It will sting a bit. I'm going to put the bandage on it," he assured her.
" I want Dai Mom, where is she?," Divya exclaimed.
Amar pulled her back into the armchair. He couldn't let Gaytari see Divya dressed like this.
She would have a heart attack.
" She is sleeping now. We'll go see her in the morning," he assured her.
" Ok Amarr!," Divya got up and swayed around. Amar tried to grab her by the waist, but she swayed and he lost his balance and they fell on the floor.
" Oof!,"
" Sorry Amar are you ok?," she inquired.
" Yeah," he mumbled. He grabbed her shoulders and pushed her up and got up himself. He led her to the bed and sat her down.
He began to feel sleepy and soon dozed off.
In the morning Amar lurched awake.
" Divya shouldn't be sleeping," he thought to himself.
He turned to face the other side of the bed.
Divya was wide awake, staring into his eyes. He merely smiled at her.
Their eye lock was broken as she realized what she was wearing and the cut on her knee.
She looked at Amar frantically.
" What happened last night?," she inquired.
Amar sighed.
" I don't for sure but it seems like you were drugged and when Roger and I came looking for you we noticed some goons after you. We have been waiting all night for you to gain your senses so you could tell us what happened," he stated firmly.
Divya had flashes of feeling strange and two men trying to gag her, possibly trying to kidnap her so Dai Mom and Amar along with Roger would have to give everything her parents worked for to someone who was greedy for their wealth.
She turned solemn and told Amar what she recalled.
He hugged her afterwards promising the people would be brought to justice.
" No if we start a case now we'll be stuck here for months. I rather we return to India," she stated.
Amar nodded.
" You know more about law than me. Besides the deal was finalized yesterday right?"
Divya nodded.
"It's finalized. I have had the money transferred as well. I am going to get freshened up, and then I want to tell Dai Mom that we are leaving soon," she stated.
Amar stroked her hair. It gave her a calming effect as she recalled now how Amar had grabbed her last night, to prevent the goons from finding her. He had done the same during the riots in Beneras.
She hugged him, causing him to look at her astonished.
" Yeh kis ke liye?:
Divya smiled.
" I am so glad I came to India when I did, Main bauth khush hoon ke tum mere zindgi mein ho," she stated.
