'I'm not seeing him'Divyanka Tripathi denies that she is in a 'relationship' with Sharad Malhotra
'Banoo… would have stagnated'
Though we are still on top, being a daily soap, it is quite possible that the show could reach stagnation point. So, it was better that we brought a new and exciting change before the TRPs come down. That way, we will always keep the audiences interest alive.
'Our deaths have disappointed the audience'
I am getting loads of phone-calls from fans all over since Sharad and my character has been killed in the show. My make-up man too is inundated with calls about the same. They are obviously sounding disappointed and though I am feeling bad about this, it's a compliment nevertheless. My grandmother too was very unhappy about my death in the show and my grandpa had to literally convince her that all would be well soon. The audiences won't have to wait for too long for there's a new twist in the tale.
'I don't know what happens next'
The channels haven't given us a clear picture of what's coming up next. They are not telling us anything except that it's going to be an exciting surprise. Of course, the channel cannot take the risk of making a drastic change keeping the audiences' sensibilities in mind. Nevertheless, I am excited about the change because it will mean doing something new after playing the same role for almost two years.
'I am only friends with Sharad'
There's absolutely nothing between us. Since we are by ourselves in Mumbai and most of our stage performances are also together, we get thrown together often. We don't know many people around and that's the reason we hang out a lot with the whole Banoo… team. Probably that's what makes people talk. But for the nth time, we are just good friends.
'I have been offered films'
There are 2-3 good film offers, but at this point I cannot ditch Dulhan….I am not convinced that films are bigger than television. For me, one has to be number one in whatever field they are. We are the number one show on television today and that's a huge thing for me. The day I feel that I have reached stagnation point with the show, I will move on. Right now, there is no scope to take on another daily fiction soap.
