Jamshedpur, Feb. 14: Miss India 2008 would walk the ramp in the steel city wearing the dress crafted by students of International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT). The final of Miss India 2008 would be held on April 5. Once "the most beautiful" face of the country is named, she would fly down to Jamshedpur to do the honours at the annual show of the fashion institute on April 26. S.K Mohanty, the proprietor of IIFT, said: "The details have been finalised with the organisers of Miss India for our grand show. We have zeroed down on her (Miss India) as the special attraction at our annual event." Apart from Miss India walking the ramp in the final round of the fashion show, a bevy of beauties would be taking the stage at the IIFT event. The institute would also get some leading names from the small screen to walk the ramp. Television's "most loved wicked star" Faisal Raza Khan, who is engaged in meaty roles in two popular soaps - Banoo Main Teri Dulhann and Sollah Singarr - has confirmed his participation for a special show. "We zeroed down on him as he has the right personality to carry off the garments in different sequences being made by our students," added Mohanty. Giving him company on the stage would be Divyanka Tripathi, another television star adjudged the Face of the Year in a recent ceremony. The protagonist in Dulhann, a soap aired on a popular entertainment channel, Divyanka's claim to fame includes a role in the latest edition of the dance contest involving starlets, Nach Baliye. Flaunting the designs of these aspiring designers would be Bidita, too, the Lakme Brand model. "They will all walk the ramp in different mood sequences prepared by our second year students," said Harkeerat Kaur, a faculty at the fashion-designing institute. Segregated into 12 sequences, students of the institute have got busy with seven "mood garments". Garage wear, temple wear, spice wear, newspaper and destruction are the themes for the mood garments. Two more sequences would be designed and one would especially be for children. Quite a few leading names from the glamour world in Mumbai and Calcutta would too make their presence felt during the institute's scheduled annual event. Moving ahead would be a second theme of the temple wear which would be a mix of Indian prints on Western silhouettes. The creations in this category would revolve around the colours light green and grey. Along this theme would be the third sequence of the Spice wear which will essentially contain a mix of party wear done in bright embroidery and the black and silver colours. The fourth theme of Newspaper would get students busy in designing corporate wear revolving around the use of black and white colours, with the fifth theme of destruction coming a close fifth in the theme section. The creations in this section would essentially combine a mix of the colours black, red and white with a generous use of floral motifs and fabric painting to adorn the creations. Two more sequences would be designed by the students who are learning the nuances of designing clothes at the institute. While there is an inkling of one sequence revolving around the 'ghost' theme, another would definitely be garments designed to cater to kids. Flaunting the designs of these aspiring designers would also be Bidita, the Lakme Brand Model for the kids. Quite a few leading names from the glamour world in Mumbai and Calcutta would too make their presence felt during the institute's scheduled annual event. Garbed in designs created by students of city-based International Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), the chosen one for the crown in this year's edition of the prestigious beauty pageant would be here in the city to catwalk in style. |
