'Ine lamhom ke daaman mein…pakeezah se rishtey hai…koi kalam mohobat ka..doraate farishte hai..khamosh si zameen hai..ek noor hi noor sa asmaan talak hai…nagmein hi nagmein hai jaagti sothi fizaon mein…hoosn hai saari adaaon mein…ishq hai jaise hawaon mein…'
Somehow BMTD resembles the fairytale 'Sleeping Beauty,' of course with alterations. Instead of the princess being cursed, the prince is cursed by an evil witch and is put to sleep. One fine day, the princess arrives as a bright, shining light, kissing him to life. Vidya cured Sagar of his illness and decorated and infused his life with joy and love and now awakened him from his blind faith of Sindoora's. Together they now stand tall, to defeat the witch who has tormented and tortured their lives.
(Note: Everything I mention pertains only to the character and not the actor)
If one is gripped with fear, the other is the soother that calms down any fear nerves. If one is filled with anger, the other is a relaxation of these fiery vibes. But when the dark cloud moves closer, they walk in each others shadows, uniting as one, undistinguishable as two.
When Sagar was lurking in feared shadows, afraid in today's episode, Vidya as always became the calming force, reassuring him that their safety net that comprises of their love for their family and the want for safety for them is what should keep them going. I like this aspect of their relationship. See, we don't have them both on the sinking side, if one is sinking; the other lends a hand of support. Sagar seemed like such a teddy bear who just wants to hug Vidya and remain there in her arms, finding solace and comfort in them. Yes, his eyes were looking into his internal mirrors, revealing the pain and guilt he felt for the fact that danger just passed inches from his love and that too through his own hands. There and then, I just wanted Sagar to shut up, close his eyes and just hug Vidya, I don't think he even needed to say a word, they speak through their eyes and that was enough for Vidya, hence she went straight into his arms.
I cannot elucidate completely just how many bubbles of elation are dancing inside of me. Just when I think the creatives/writers will fail to impress with an interesting plot, their surprises barge in, weaving an interesting track, that grips you keenly. I've seen many other shows, where lovers/husbands need to be persuaded, pushed, given lengthy and wordy lectures, piles of proof pile up after months and months fly forward and only then are they shown to unite with their lovers. Here, BMTD has assembled a marvel of a storyline. Sagar and Vidya aren't one of those usual couples, although they too have witnessed ups and downs in their relationship, but none so drastic that has them bear a long timely separation, although for them each minute of separation passes with a heavy heart. I like how Sagar realized on his own accord that he wants to bring back Vidya despite evil curling all around him. Yes, he has flaws; flaws that make you cringe as nail scratching a board, most of the time, he walks around with an impulsive head and can be downright rude and insensitive like he was to Vidya in initial times, but then which character doesn't comprise of flaws? Atleast, we've got a saner character which has flaws. I didn't mean to launch into a tyrant on this issue, it's just that I felt the need to pour it out again, just why I love BMTD and why this show is number one for me.
I love how Sagar always holds Vidya's face with such delicacy, softness always embracing his every touch. You never see him clasping her hand painfully (I personally don't quite like the clasping/breaking the bangle type of scenes when they show two people in a relationship, because why would you want to inflict pain of any kind on the person you claim to love?) He always holds her as if she were a delicate doll, his princess whom he always wishes to see her walking on a carpet of roses. Did I mention how I also adore the fact, that these two ALWAYS look into each other's eyes whilst talking to one another (except for the time when Vidya was lying to him about her pregnancy) I think this brings the meaning of what they are communicating to each other to another level. It adds a lot more flesh and meat to their words because so much meaning travels in their eyes.
I've really begun to question the term 'on-screen chemistry' now, aren't SV so much more than that? So much unabashed intimacy that doesn't comprise of any raunchiness or vulgarity instead is showcased to be so pure and beautiful, that even level of proximity doesn't minimize this intimacy. Also, there's so much passion and intensity that climbs through every scene of theirs that travels through simplicity. Where are the candle lights, the pushing against the wall, romantic music? There is none, yet all their scenes still churn out to be so sexy. Their scenes melt the heart faster than ice-cream, cackle even more than burning coal and pulsate hearts more than any television couple, bollywood too I think.
'MONKEY,' 'COW,' 'ELEPHANT' 'sab kuch ho tum.' Okay, am I the only one, or did anyone else want Sagar to call Vidya that not because of Chinu/Bharat being there. NO! You think I want Sagar to scratch Vidya's heart? What I meant was, imagine Sagar saying that to Vidya playfully, flirting with her, playing with her hair, pulling her closer…enough of sadness/pain engulfing them, I want them to be happy, free and romancing to their hearts pleasure.
Posture, hand movements, facial expressions, manner of talking, you name it and Sharad as the mentally ill Sagar portrays his character par brilliance. I probably would never have appreciated as much as I do now how distinct and clear he portrays these two versions of his character. About Vidya, there's got to be some day when Sagar just pulls Vidya's hair band loose himself and tells her, she needn't tie her hair.
*phew* although pouring my heart into words is tiresome at times but as always enjoyed every bit of it. Would love for you all to share your views as well. This one was for all of you, who requested themselves to be punished brutally to read this lengthy piece.
Ab main chali, to watch the last scene again..then ofcourse will automatically step into SV's dreamworld...
Keep smiling..
