It's long-due for our Discussion of the Week, and we are finally back to give you all some thought-provoking questions...😉

We've already been discussing about Vidya's pregnancy (she is not pregnant) and how Sagar doesn't know the truth yet... and about Sindoora's hopeful ruination coming soon.

Why don't we start off our DOTW this week with something more light?

This week, let's talk about how the style of the characters affect the show - here are some questions to think about -

1. Compare Sagar's hair in the very beginning of the show (clean, short-cut), to now (longer). How does cutting his hair affect his character? If Sagar had his old (beginning) hair, would that affect how he is now?

2. We've rarely seen Vidya with her hair down, but it excites us to see it. Compare her hair down, how it looked during the time of Sagar's recovery, and now. Which one suits her the best?

3. Sindoora's style has not changed much at all in the show - cotton sari, long hair down, simple jewellery. How would she look if she was more decked up? Would her character have the same affect?

4. Most of the other characters in the show haven't really had many style changes. Is this good or bad?

Why you little... 😛 This is my favourite topic after SV's chemistry. 😊

1) Sagar's hairstlye--> At the beginning of the show it was short and cute. I liked it. But most of the time it was covered with his cap. (OMG he should wear it now...*freeze* how hot would he look?? *thud* ) Then it got longer and I didn't mind much then because he was a kid so he didn't need to take care of himself. When he recovered, I loved his Tom cruise messy look. That was real nice but then Sharad seems so careless about his hair. Its all over the place. Even now he has had it cut but there is no style to it.

2) Vidya's hairstyle--> I think more than anyone else I've picked on her hairstyle since Day 1. She has the prettiest face on television and at times I don't mind her "half-up,half-down" hairstyle because she does look beautiful w/o a doubt. But you know what really bothers me? THE BUMP they put...is it a wig or what? What is with the egg-shape head??? That puts me off so much.
When she has it down...WOW!!! Its like spotting the haley's comet. 😆

3) Sin's style--> Her middle-parting looks really weird at times but im not too bothered about her style. Its good for a vamp! 😊

4) Chinu--> Manish wanted a makeover didn't he? Why not give him one. Why does he have oil in his hair? 😛

sagar would have looked less good looking , and his character would'nt have much of a difference in the show except, that he got better ( became normal ).

the hair style she has now because then we can see her hair , but in her old style she had a bun and we counld'nt see her hai much . since now she has her hairopen alittle she looks much better !

yes , sindoora would have looked like she was really fashionable person and not a really good villian . she would have mainly cared about her cloths instead of her plans and wounld'nt look much serious without her cotton sari and her hair style .

4. Most of the other characters in the show haven't really had many style changes. Is this good or bad?

its not really good or bad , because many of them don't have a different character now , so maybe they don't need to have a new change . for example , shalu has become good and so her make-up has become lighter ( not alot light ) and her way of talking to her mother has changed alot also .

First off GOOD discussion topic. Unlike most shows, the style of the characters in BMTD is closer to life and realistic. now coming to the questions

1) Wen sagar was childlike in his habits, basically mentally sick, he carried a shorter look, which helped him with his boyish character. I think his hair now(maybe jus a lil shorter) gives him a more sophisticated look which I guess is needed for the Sagar we know now.

2) if we were to discuss wat looks better on vidya in terms of hair den loose hair is definitely her thing. again at this time of the show more dan ever her character demands more sophistication and seriousness and i guess they r trying all means to pull that look off, and hair does play an imp part! once in a while tho i wud love to see her hair down esp the SV romantic scenes, which we hardly get to see cuz either der is always SIN or the junior of sagar's he cant stop talking abt!😡

3)This is a tricky one, does her current style of dressing and carrying herself suit her character? Yes it does, but then again we havent seen SIN in anything different. With her look they have tried to maintain dat she is the practical type she is shown as. some1 wid as big ambitions as hers, wudnt really find the time to prep up herself all the time, i mean she'd rather focus dat time n attention in achieving what she must!

4)Most other characters havent had a drastic change in der style is a sign of a goof production team. It shows day do their homework and have most things planned before hand. Having a similar background (my family is in the TV business too mostly directors) I have seen ppl write the dialogues of dere characters on the sets! this atleast shows that most of the times u can be sure the caharcters wont go outside of der character. Even the bold Vidya we see now has become who she is over a period of time and wid alot happening in her life. Life toughens ppl and dats a justified reason to change or expand some characters cpapabilites.


So there was my opinion sorry if its long i enjoy torturing ppl wid my long speeches 😉 😛

Very interesting topic, Ammu! I was actually talking about Sindura with my aunt a couple days ago and how she is not as decked up as other negative female characters are in other shows.

I think that makes him look like a 'cool dude' as his hair now is more up to date and like all the youngsters like to do these days. Short and simple cut before made him look like a kid and had more of the 'kid affect' but the long, stylish hair now make him look like a boy in his twenties who is into fashion and latest trends. It makes him look really hot too 😳😳

2. We've rarely seen Vidya with her hair down, but it excites us to see it. Compare her hair down, how it looked during the time of Sagar's recovery, and now. Which one suits her the best?

I think the basic reason that Vidya doesn't keep her hair down is because she is very simple, and not really into fashion and stuff. She was illitrate too and even after getting all the education she doesn't want to change as she is proud of who and what she is. Hair down is the latest trend and maybe always has been. That makes you look really the girl of the 21st century but that wouldn't do much to her simple and innocent character. So I guess her hair tied up ads to her simplicity.

Oh, I think it has changed a little bit. I haven't seen the show since the beginning but I was looking at some old clips and pictures and she had some darker make up on than she does these days. I don't mean dark dark like Kaveri's in Saat Phere but darker than what she does these days. These days she doesn't have much make up on and even when she does it's really really light. I think it gives her more of the 'devi' look in Sagar's eyes. I don't think if she was all decked up Sagar would worship her as much as she wouldn't look so simple and 'bechari' as she wanted herself to look in front of Sagar.

4. Most of the other characters in the show haven't really had many style changes. Is this good or bad?

I don't know if that makes a huge difference.. I mean Shalu has changed somewhat because of the change in her character. Her clothing and everything is less sharp and into your face. But since most of the characters are consistent and there isn't much change in them no style change was needed.

If he has clean short-cut then obvious he will look hot n happening.. isilie lambe baal taki koi aur ladki uske lambe baal dekhke pyaar main lambi na hojae😉😆

I loved all her hair styles so far.. so I wont comment here😛.. whenever shez with sagar i hardly notice their hair cut..😆

3. Sindoora's style has not changed much at all in the show - cotton sari, long hair down, simple jewellery. How would she look if she was more decked up? Would her character have the same affect?

I will say they hv done a brilliant job by keeping the villain neat n clean.. in a plain cotton saree.. long hair down and simple jewellery.. usually the negative characters are shown roaming around with the entire jewellery shop so that she can grab attention.. but Sin doesn't need it.. her posture, her gesture everything compensates for it.

4. Most of the other characters in the show haven't really had many style changes. Is this good or bad?

I think its okay.. what matters is their acting.. and each of them have done PHD in it..Its coz of their acting i watch each episode thrice on TV.. i hardly miss the repeats.. what matters is their being there not hairdo😳

It would not affect anything! Atleast i dont think. He looks WAY cuter now, in my opinion!

To me the hair down suits her more. I think she would look way cuter like that.

to me Sin's style is unique and her dull colours go with her DULL personality. I dont think it would have any affect on her either!

It's OK, I only want V to keep her hair down that's all I ask.

I feel is hair now makes him look a lot mature now, more like a business man😳 if he had the old cut we viewers wont look at him so seriously anymore cuz we'll always remember the childish cute sagar😳

2. We've rarely seen Vidya with her hair down, but it excites us to see it. Compare her hair down, how it looked during the time of Sagar's recovery, and now. Which one suits her the best? It's a pity i do not really remember her hair down during sagar's recovery

3. Sindoora's style has not changed much at all in the show - cotton sari, long hair down, simple jewellery. How would she look if she was more decked up? Would her character have the same affect? Since she is so evil, i feel that being heavily decked up would be kinda overdoing the stuff, so to me she looks better the way she is😃

4. Most of the other characters in the show haven't really had many style changes. Is this good or bad? Neither. it would be kool to see some changes but i wont mind if i dont see any😃but i think shalu had a slight change
