Wants her contract to be reworked in order to buy a car and a house

Paisa Do! Divyanka Tripathi
Bano Main Teri Dulhan's Divyanka Tripathi, who plays the demure damsel on the show, is in distress.

The actress, who has an uncanny resemblance to Gauri Pradhan (Nandini of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi), is ruing the fact that she has signed a two-year contract with producer Neelima Bajpai.

Apparently, Divyanka is very unhappy about her low wages.

Maange poori karo!

Says a source, "She wants to buy a car and a new house but it's just not possible to do that with the remuneration she takes home every month."

Divyanka admits that she has been shortchanged, but says that she will continue with the show.

She says, "The show is very dear to me, but I signed it for a paltry fee which is alright for a newcomer. However, I shouldn't have signed it for two years.

Newcomers get as much as I do today, but their contracts are not for more than a year. After they complete a year in a serial, they get a good raise."

Divyanka, who was one of the finalists of last year's Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj, says that if her producer Neelima Bajpai understands her predicament, a car will really help her.

"I can catch up on some sleep after a long day's shoot and don't have to face the embarrassment of auto-drivers adjusting their mirrors to have a look at me.

Also, I won't have to bear the comments from people on the streets that recognise me.

I have spoken to the production house but nothing has materialised. I am not going to throw a tantrum to get a fee hike.

I believe in Gandhigiri. I hope they'll understand," says Divyanka.Well, what can we say? Lage raho!

cheers
