Having seen her as Tulsi for six years, it is quite a mindset shift for the viewers who now see Smriti Irani play a much younger character. "I decided to experiment and took a chance. The viewers don't appreciate a character until you give them something new. Uma is very real and her story is believable," says Irani. She feels the viewers should be ready for good content.

The story is very real and I know people love Prerna. It is just an experiment, an attempt to do something different. I know the viewers will not accept anything else," says Shweta Tiwari. It took a long time for her to essay another role, so what in the same show.

Just out of college, this young lady has already come a long way. "I'm playing the role of the eldest sister who is mature and caring towards her siblings.
