PART - 7

Ananya stood rooted to the spot.

Though Bharath could not see her properly, she could see him as the light was falling on his face directly from behind.She hesitated to ask him anything further as his appearance did not go quite well with her.He had a stubble and unkempt hair.The shirt was half untucked and the top two buttons left open.He seemed to be approaching her as if she were an alien.She took a small step backwards involuntarily.

Bharath could not believe his ears.As his eyes grew accustomed to the dim light he could see her more clearly than before.

Dressed in a white cotton top and a white skirt she looked more beautiful than ever.He wanted to make sure that she was for real.He slowly walked towards her,his eyes never leaving her face.

"Excuse me..If you dont mind can you call Mr.Bharath Singh? i need to talk to him" she asked wondering who this person could be.

He extended his hand and touched her arm.Ananya was shocked and cringed at his touch.

Bharath's heart was threatening to jump out of his body.His Adithi has finally returned to him.He was overwhelmed with so much happiness that he could not feel her struggling to get free from his hold.He pulled her towards him and hugged her tight,his tears falling into her hair.

Ananya was scared like hell when he hugged her.She struggled wildly to get free but he wouldnt leave her.

She forcibly dug the heel of her shoe into his foot causing him to shriek in pain and leave her.Before he could regain his balance, She slapped him hard with all the strength she could muster,pushed him to the ground and started running.

Bharath did not understand why she was behaving like this.He wasnt going to loose her again.he ran after her trying to overtake her.By that time she was on the road outside and had stopped a taxi.Seeing him comming after her,she gave him a look of pure hatred and scaredness, the one which she used to give Karan.

Bharath stopped in his tracks for a moment.Never had he imagined he could get such a reaction from her.That one look of hers was stabbing his heart.The taxi was going away from his sight,he still could not move.

Had he not loved her enough? where had he gone wrong?Why did she leave him again? If she had to go like this why did she come to see him in the first place? Thousands of questions bursting in his head,Bharath slowly walked back into the garden unable to understand why all this was hapening to him.Did he not deserve happiness like the others? he thought miserably as he sank to the grass closing his eyes.


"Are..ananya..aagayi beta tum..adi aur saab nahin aaye ab tak.." Ramu Kaka was telling her.

Ananya paid no heed to this and ran to her room closing the door and sinking to the floor.The entire incident had shaken her up very much and she did not know how to react about it.She was shivering as her eyes welled up.

"Annie..please open the door..Annie..did u get back the payal?" Vineet was banging at the door.

"Payal ?" Annie remembered the root cause of all this mayhem.

She opened the door and yelled at him.." Damn you and Damn that Payal..I ....I..just hate you"

She pushed him out and banged the door shut in his face.She fell on the bed crying.

Vineet opened the door after sometime.He sat on her bed calmly and caressed her hair.

"Gudiya..whats the matter..i have never seen you so upset..is that because of something i did? Im sorry Angel..I never wanted to hurt you..it pains me a lot to see u crying like this.." the pain was evident in his voice.

Ananya got up and met his eyes finally.He wiped her tears,kissed on her forehead and hugged her.She now felt that she was safe and nobody could touch her,nothing could bother her.She felt protected.

"whats the matter Annie..what happened..did someone say something to you..you just name them and.."

Annie was in a dilemma now.She remembered how Vineet had beaten a boy to near death when he passed a comment on her.Now if she tells him everything,he would hunt that person down and make sure he was dead.The thought sent shivers through her spine


"Nothing Vinnie...I...I... just remembered mom..thats all "

"Try another convincing lie Annie.."

"No Vinnie..i just thought all about what has happened to me..the ordeal everybody had to undergo because of me..what you did for me..Oh Vinnie..Im sorry for yelling at you..its just that i felt that you left me all alone"

"Sorry Angel..if Mr.Sahai had not called me urgently i would not have left you alone to go to Singh Mansion..By the way did u get the payal?"

"No Vinnie..I didnt feel like going there alone...i thought you should have a go at your Hitler not me" she added smiling.

He tried hitting her soflty with a pillow but she dodged and gave him a perfect one with another pillow.the Great Pillow war ended very soon as Adi joined the forces and overpowered Vineet soon.

"Oy Mister ! what you do you think you are doing in my chutki's room this late?" he raised his eyebrows in mock anger while puttig his arm around her protectively.

"Bhai..dekho na..I was telling him to leave as any decent guy would not come into a girl's room at this time but he wont listen.When i threatened him that i will tell you he said he is not afraid of you and could take you on single handed any time " she giggled.

"Annie ki bachi..teri toh.." Vineet tried to reach to her.Adi caught his hand in the middle.

"Single handed? any time? toh hojaaye?"

"Adi..cummon yaar..annie ne keh diya aur tumne maan liya ?? annie naaraaz hain mujhse..isliye badlaa le rahi hain mujh se.."

Ananya was watching Adi all the time.He wasnt paying much attention and had a slight frown.She signalled Vineet to stop and asked Adi.

"Bhaiyya aap kya kehte hai is baare mein?"

Adi had lost track of the conversation but the last time he was listening both of them were arguing.

"Main kehta hoon ki chutki sahi hain " He hoped his answer went well with them.

"Aur main kehti hoon ki aap pareshaan hain " Ananya said looking concerned."what happened Bhai?"

"nothing..i had a small accident while comming back..nothing to worry..its a small one" he added seeing the look on her face.

"He was driving like a maniac and hit my car.I am fortunate enough to be alive right now.When i got down and tried to see if he was ok he just shouted at me to get out of his way instead of apologizing to me..some people are so arrogant and insensitive and.." his feelings for the arrogant driver were written all over his face.

"and useless.." she completed his sentence. " Bhai..if at all i come across that idiot i will give him a good lecture for spoiling my Brother's car and his day.Your anger is now transferred into my department and you no longer have any rights to hold it " she beamed at him making the other two smile.

Vineet and Aditya went downstairs discussing about the new merger deal they had today while Ananya headed off for a shower scratching and rubbing herself roughly wherever the guy from Singh mansion touched her.


Amar had searched the entire house for Bharath but could not find him.

"What happened Amar? Why are you so worried?" Divya asked him.

Amar told her whatever happened in the office.Though Divya was shocked she had a different view of things.

"Amar,May be this girl looks like Adithi..but whats the point in telling Bharath about it ? We all know she is not Adithi but Bharath might think she is and that she has come back to him.You also told that the girl is Vineet's fiance.If Bharath goes and claims her to be his wife what effect will it have on both of them? By telling Bharath we would be destroying two more lives..i dont think its a good idea"

"What if Bharath gets to know somehow? what will we do then?"

"Shambunath ji will take of everything Amar.If they are destined to meet,they will meet or they will not.There is nothing we can do about it right now."

Amar did not look convinced though.


Next Morning...

"Welcome Madam" the receptionist handed her flowers.

"Thankyou..these are my favourite you know" She said to her.

"yes madam..we know" The receptionist smiled looking at Vineet who was standing beside Anaya.

"Vinnie..I am tensed."

"Chillax Annie..you will be fine.."He offered her his arm.

Arm in Arm they first walked into Vineet's cabin.It was fully decorated with her favorite flowers.His table had a big picture of both of them smiling.

" I keep it here so that i can keep reminding myself"

"remind what?"

"That i have Annie in my life and however beautiful my PA is i should not look at her or reciprocate her advances!!"

"Advances?? on you? which woman in her right mind would do that?"

"Meaning? you were not in your right mind when you decided to get engaged to me?"

"Well..if i think about it now..i had an accident then that addled my brains.."

"So you are repenting it now...you dont want to be with me?" Vineet asked sounding very troubled.The thought of Ananya not liking him was torturing him.

Ananya had her back to him all the time.She was giggling happily at the reactions Vineet was giving to her words.

"Ananya...was this marriage forced on you?" he asked her sternly.

The coldness of his voice frightened her and she turned to face him.

His Face,his eyes said it all..the love he had for her,the concern he had for her and how her words tormented him.

She rushed to him immediately and cupped his face in her hands.

"Vinnie..Im repenting it now..yes Vinnie i do"

Vineet walked back to the sofa nearby and sank into it. Ananya knelt down on her knees and held both of his hands in hers.

" I am repenting that the accident ever happened .. else i would have been Mrs.Vineet much before.. I would have been the luckiest woman on the earth..well for that matter i am..I get the love and attention of the most eligible bachelor in town who also happens to be my best friend and still doesnt realise i was joking.." She made a puppy dog face that was hard to resist.


"Annie..are you sure? this is a matter of both of our lives.."

"yeah i am sure..I will get the papers ready for you to sign"

"papers? what papers?" Vineet asked confused.

"your Miss.pretty PA is not going to work with you anymore.You better sign on her termination letter" she showed him her finger threateningly.

Vineet let out a laugh.he loved her.He loved whatever she did.Her words,her crazy actions,her smile,her dreams..he just loved everything about her.

"Let me introduce you to Amar and Bharath..i can ask him about the payal too" Vineet said

"Give it a rest Vinnie"

"No i wont " he said stubbornly.

Bharath did not turn up at the office saving Ananya from another showdown between both the men.

Vineet led her to Amar's room.He opened the door after knocking softly and found the back of Amar's chair facing them.Ananya was having a very odd feeling standing there.Something was making her slightly dizzy but she brushed it off as the tension she was feeling at that moment.

"Hi Amar,I want you to meet my Annie.. I mean.. Ananya...Ananya Shergill "


Precap:

"Let me go" she raised her other hand to slap him.

"I just wanted to say sorry" he released her hand which he was holding tightly.

" I dont believe in all that trash you have told me.people like you should be inside asylums..God knows why they have left you outside to trouble people like this..dont you ever try to come in my way again..you will regret it big time !"

PART - 8



Divya was getting increasingly worried.

She thought back to what had happened yesterday.

When they returned from the shopping,Divya had searched for Bharath all over the house only to find him in the garden.He was lying down on the grass and was sleeping.Divya tried to wake him up.

Bharath woke up with a start.He stared around confused.

"what are you doing here Bharath..Please come inside" Divya said.

"Yes bhabhi....Ill come in a minute..you go inside..its very cold out here" He sent her inside.

He sat down on the grass and thought about what had happened.He looked at Singh mansion which was now full of lights and laughter comming from the hall.He did not even know when they had come back.He doubted if he had a dream...a dream about adithi...yes..it was a dream...he was sleeping there and he had a dream about her..yes..he convinced himself and started walking towards the house.

As he was nearing the main door,something got tangled in his feet. He stopped and bent down to see what it was.His eyes widened and he jerked his head to make sure he wasnt hallucinating.

He held her Payal in his hand.So this must be true.Adithi was here.It wasnt his imagination.he recollected what has happened once again.

"No Adithi..I am not going to give up..i want to know the reason why you hate me..You are mine..I wont let you go like this"

"Did you say something Bharath?" Divya was at the door.

Bharath immediately shoved the payal into his pocket and shaked his head.

Later on When Divya went to call him for Dinner he was not to be found in his room.He just left a note that he was going out for some important work.There had been no contact with him from then on.

Divya prayed to her Shambunath ji that whatever that important work might be,it should be sucessfully finished and Bharath should be back fast. Gods were listening this time !

Ananya smiled warmly at the person in the chair who now stood up to greet her.

Well,he didnt greet her yet but was staring at her as if seeing a woman for the first time.She felt a bit uncomfortable and fidgeted with end of her scarf .Even Vineet could not understand his reaction on seeing her.

Dressed in a Cream coloured top and a chocolate brown colour skirt, she looked like a kid who is about to get her examination marks.She might look like Adithi but she isnt..she isnt...she isnt...Amar closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm down.He then noticed how uncomfortable he had made her by staring like that.

"Oh hello Miss Ananya..welcome..please make yourselves comfortable" he said returning her simle.

Ananya hesitated to go near him but instead looked at Vineet who nodded encouragingly.

"Amar..Ananya is going to look after Finance and marketing..I know your company already has auditors for that purpose but for our Group it always has been Ananya.. She will look after the joint venture but will represent and is accountable only for our group..is that ok with you?"

Amar nodded,his heart sinking horribly.

"it will take a day or two to setup her cabin..till then she would be in my cabin.i will take her around the office and introduce the staff to her."

Vineet took her out.She smiled at Amar again before leaving, leaving him immobile.He remembered the way Adithi used to smile at him ,call him Bhaiyya,complain to him if Bharath turned up late from work..everything .Now that she is going to work with them,Bharath is bound to see her.What would he do then?How would Bharath react?

Amar immediately called Divya to tell her about this.He asked her where Bharath was.Her reply made him even more worried.

Vineet took Annie to meet the staff and introduced her to them.Eyes followed them as she moved from person to person greeting them and several of them murmered to their colleagues what Relation that girl had with their boss.

Only one woman made the mistake of passing the comment audible enough for Ananya to stop.Vineet had heard it too and raised his eyebrows at Ananya silently questioning her whether they should reveal it or not.

Ananya came nearer to the youg woman who now stood terrified awaiting the punishment to come.

Ananya bent over a little and said in the woman's ear " So you want to kow what's going on between us?"

" I am his girlfriend...he earlier had a girlfriend who got hit by my car accidentally and died..a page 3 photographer bothered us way too much and he died after having dinner at my place...probably he was allergic to something..and some journalist is asking us the same question you did ...she even looks like you..I was thinking of how to deal with her... any ideas??" She paused and looked at the girl from top to bottom before moving away.

the poor Girl clutched her heart and sank to her seat trembling.

"Annie ..what did you tell her?" Vineet was surprised at her reaction.

"Nothing Vinnie.i just gave her a dose of what i might do if they dont concentrate enough on work " she winked.

"dont tell me Annie..you threatened her? i know you dont mean it .. but She might think badly of you...do you want the staff to hold a grudge against you?"

"No Vinnie..I want them to stop talking about both of us..You know..if at all i want something to be done,i can always get it done in my own style"

" I wonder where Bharath is! he did not even inform that he is not comming.. thats so unprofessional of him..he.."

"Vinnie..tell me onething..is the total Singh clan this strange?" She asked remembering Amar's reaction.

"Who else did you meet?...wait till you see Bharath..the stone faced.. 'call me Hitler, the never smiling Hitler' type guy..."

"oh Cummon Vinnie..can we get started with our work now?" She pulled him into his cabin.


That Night..


"So how was my Gudiya's day?" Veerender asked her.

"Oh Veeru...it was fantastic ! With Vinnie it was even more fun" she hugged him.

"Dinner will be ready in 10 minutes" Adi came out of the kitchen.

"Bhai!! are you making the dinner tonight ?..that makes me all the more hungry"

"Yes Chutki...you are going to office after so long..i thought I would make this day special for you"

He gave her a small box which she opened eagerly.

"A New Car??" She jumped and hugged him.

"But i wont let you drive it" He added taking away the keys she was holding in her hand.

She immediately withdrew and stared at him offended.

"Well,Papa has found a perfect driver for you" Veerender pointed at Adi who said " At your service Ma'm" and bowed.

After the dinner,when Ananya was narrating the day's events to Aditya, his cell started ringing.

"Yes uncle..tell me" He walked away from her talking on the phone.

She knew who the caller was.She knew he didnt want her to know about this.When Adi returned back she asked him something that was bothering her from long time

"Bhai..why do you make me take medicines all the time? I know i had an accident..But ppl do not take medicines for so long for that..right?"

"Chutki..thats because you are delicate..you have not fully recovered.. thats why"

"bhai..please tell me the truth..why does Doctor uncle call you regularly and keeps on changing my medication ? Bhai..am i dying or somethig like that??"

Adi immediately closed her mouth with his hand to stop her from saying anything further.She rested her head on his shoulder.

"Bhai..i felt dizzy today in the office..there have been times when i feel lost..when i remember nothing..nothing at all.. Bhai..Am i going Mad? Am i suffering from a serious disease which you do not want to tell me? I want to know now"

She took his hand and placed it on her head.

"No chutki..You are not mad..and yes you are suffering from a disorder ... which is not major...it is curable with all these medicines..its not life claiming or serious..just a matter of few more months.. you will be perfectly fine"

"Bhai...does Vinnie know about the dosage of my medicines?"

Adi nodded his head.

"Oh thats the reason he was secretly mixing the medicine in my juice today"

"You did not ask him what he was giving you when you have seen him doing that?"

"No..Even if he would have mixed somethig else i would have drank it..there are only three people in this world whom i trust Blindly" she smiled


Two Days later....

Ananya entered her cabin and stopped midway seeing the flowers lying on the table.She took the flowers in her hand and read the note attached to them.

"Sorry?" she wondered...who on earth was telling this to her?..Her thoughts went back to the woman she talked to two days back.She laughed and placed them in the vase on her table.

His nose was pressed against the glass wall of her cabin and he smiled as she bent down and kissed the flowers.

Ananya later went to Vineet's cabin.She was leaning over his shoulder pointing at the screen.He could clearly see her from where he was standing though she could not see him.

He noted how close she was standing to Vineet and the comfort level she had with him.She pushed the tendrils falling on her face and laughed heartily for something Vineet said.She suddenly raised her head in his direction and froze in horror seeing him.

He did not have a stubble nor was his hair messy.In the business suit he looked handsome and well groomed.He did not look like what he looked three days back but there was no mistaking him.She raised her finger pointing at him unable to say anything.He still did not react and kept staring at her intensely.

"Vinnie..." She jerked Vineet franctically.. "Vinnie see there" She pointed at the glass wall but there was no one there.

"what are you pointing at Annie?"

"Vinnie..there was someone there..i thought..there was someone there." She said staring at the same spot again.

"I will check outside once..you sit down" Vineet went out to see who it was.

The phone on his desk started ringing and she picked it up.Inspite of her shouting Hello several times nobody replied.The silene of the caller was freaking her out.She banged down the reciever in anger.

Vineet returned and assured her there was nothing to worry about.He asked her to continue working in his cabin if she isnt comfortable in hers.Not wanting to show him that she was afraid,she rejected his offer and walked back.She closed the door of her cabin and took two steps towards her desk when something made her move back in shock and hit the solid wall.

He was sitting in her chair playing with one of the flowers in the vase.She wanted to scream but words would not come out.She wanted to run but couldnt.He got up seeing her and immediately she ran towards the door.

He reached there first and stood between the door and her.She took backward steps trying to keep as much distance as possible between both of them and reached for the telephone on her desk.Before she could dial vineet's extension,he pulled the phone out of her hand and caught her hand in his.

"Please Listen to me" He said clamly.

She found her voice atlast.

"You..how dare you enter this office? How dare you" She was shaking with anger.

"I am here to say sorry for my behaviour..I have a reason for behaving like that and i want you to know about it"

"get out..Or I will call the police"

"Sure you can..But i Will not go without explaining myself to you"

He then told her one of the strangest stories she had ever heard.

Amar had seen Bharath's car in the parking lot. Eager to see him He rushed to Bharath's cabin.Not finding Bharath there he decided to wait for him. Something on Bharath's desk caught his attention.A File was lying near the laptop on which the word "Confidential" shone in bold letters.Amar got up and took the file in his hands.It read "Copy only to:Mr.Bharath Singh".He wondered what kind of report was that to which only Bharath had the access ? He wanted to open it but then decided against it.If Bharath had kept it confidential then there might be a reason behind it.he turned to leave when the screensavers on Bharath's laptop caught his attention immediately.They usually would be Pictures of Adithi but now they showed Ananya.

Ananya in the dress she wore when he had first seen her..but Bharath was not in the office that day..how could he have that picture of hers? Why did he have her pictures in the first place? that means Bharath had known about Ananya long before he knew and probably was following her assuming her to be Adithi....and that means..right now...

Amar rushed to Ananya's cabin.

"let me go" she raised her other hand to slap him.

"I just wanted to say sorry" he released her hand which he was holding tightly.

" I dont believe in all that trash you have told me.people like you should be inside asylums..God knows why they have left you outside to trouble people like this..dont you ever try to come in my way again..you will regret it bigtime !"

"Im Sorry..I assure you that there would be no more trouble because of me"

"Bharath.." Amar came burstling into the room and stopped seeing both of them.the calmness and ease with which Bharath stood beside her was making Amar nervous.He kept looking at both of them in turn.One seemed to be happy and the other totally enraged.

"Bharath ??" she turned to look at him with hatred in her eyes.

He caught her from behind,her waist encircled by his hands, kissing her neck gently as she closed her eyes.

"The Most beautiful bride I have ever seen" he removed her bridal ghoonghat.

"Vinnie?" she asked unsure of what was happening.

He laid her down on the hay. Ananya was still wondering where the bed strewn with roses had gone when he began kissing her passionately.

Her shriek echoed in the darkness on seeing him as she opened her eyes.
