The only similarity between Gehna-Basant and SanRaj is the age difference, other than that there is no similarity.....the difference between the two basically lies in the fact that SanRaj came together voluntarily after accepting each other wholeheartedly, at no time did DM force himself or the relationship on Santu whereas Basant forced himself on Gehna right at the beginning of their marriage, so he obviously feels guilty about it as he should and in a sense Gehna was forced to accept him as her husband, the foundation of their relationship was very different and so their relationship has turned out differently.......and so we have fairy-tale SanRaj and guilt-ridden, insecure Gehna-Basant.

beautifully written post ramona..and very apt..i follow both the shows and yes,if SanRaj is an ideal relationship fantasy thn basanth-gehna is pure reality..and frankly i enjoy both..coz there is one thing common,tht mutual respect is the salvaging aspect of both the relationships..when basanth behaved like a jerk,even gehna dint give a damn abt him..only after HE started giving her respect their relationship began on a real note..and SanRaj relationship started too wid DM finally respecting santu's sacrifices and her bond wid his entire family..the one thing tht a wife wants frm her husband is respect..and widout it no relationship can truely survive..

santu's incredible belief of commitment in the institution of marriage made her different from the rest. i still recall, when she had gotten married to dm and her initial days at the mahiyavanshi house....santu and dm, both shared some common traits from the get go... they both were extremely loyal, & they both were deeply rooted in the noble and higher principles of life.... their strong characters, with extremely charming personalities, made them the most delightful couple to watch... and this is happening to date...viewers are stuck to the play because of them... its complete sunshine when they are together. on a personal level, they are one of the finest onscreen couples, i have ever seen..sheer pleasure...

I just popped in coz I have nothing to do at the moment, so I thgt I would say something to spice it up. 😆

Of course you can never compare the fairy tale couple that was Sanraj to real life couple of Gehna-Basant. Sanraj had amazing chemistry and Gehna-Basant were just very painful to watch most of the time coz of harsh reality of it.
However Bandini is no where near anything compared to BV.
Ekta and BT lack the creative talent to pull their shows together coz it always ends up as complete rehash of utter stupidity and deja vu from her old shows or other shows/movies.
BV is on a league of its own as Bandini is a commercial show not a heart-wrenching, warm and bittersweet show like BV.
Ekta n BT could learn a thing or two from watching BV.

Even though SanRaj is still my favorite couple😕 despite everything (although I think a few others are very close to taking over) and I absolutely loved the show for the first few months, was infact obsessed with it in a way I have never been with BV, I have to agree - the quality of the BV is much superior than Bandini, the production values are better, there are no obvious BDs/cheat shots to ruin the scenes, the ensemble acting is probably better than Bandini and of course there are no ludicrous and unrealistic plots and tracks and the characters are consistent and don't transition overnight to something totally different from what they started out as and there is no obvious stupidity like lactobacillus DNA and murderers roaming arounds scot free and pimps given a free pass.
