I don't think Santu has ever been selfish or ever self benefitted from anything...she thought about her sisters future/love/life more than hers...she was divorcing her husband who she loved so that her sister could marry her stepson...because she thought the love was only one sided by her but DM also loved her but would not show it...khemi was the one who ran away because in the end Khemi was wrong to think about starting a relationship with her nephew even if its not by blood, he was and is Santu's son and would mean the breakup of her sisters marriage meaning bodnam and yes she later came back married to Arjan. Santu always thought about her Nanaji and sisters after she was married and still is today, Khemi was too obsessed in wanting to marry Hiten and going against her upbringing and didn't understand the ramifications or chose not to understand and to run away and marry Hiten...Santu has sacrificed alot for her family...both families never forgetting each...firstly taking her sisters place in marrying the groom because Khemi's gungli was cursed, she agreed to marry whoever for her family and their name izatt even later when the groom left her at the mandap she ended up marrying a man twice her age with 5kids, 3 olders than her and did it for her Nanaji and sisters! the only mistake Santu as being made to make a decision to split Khemi and Arjan when everyone was pointing fingers on the yet again aunt/nephew connection but that later overruled as they did not know Arjan was DM's son and she was pregnant...Santu hiding the truth she killed Arjan yes that was to protect her daughter that could have been dealt differently...Santu went to have the sterilisation for Khemi's sake and her insecurities about Santu having her own kids 😕 I could go on....sorry if my post seems OTT, Khemi killed 3 of Hiral's unborn babies, split up her sister from her husband, split the house and became Benba No.2 so I do not miss khemi.
