Well said Leela,

The only thing for me is that I do not want Bird Brain to go back to Shanky. Shank is a real nice guy who deserves someone better than Bird Brain. I hope he will meet that special person who will loved him and Nandini unconditionally like santu loves worthless children of DM...
I do not even mind if ekta pairs him against Bansuri...

I like your analysis of the dynamics between members of the M clan and the events that shape their lives. I have some points to add.
1. I concur that Motiben was, is and will always be DM's weakness, one that many/most boys/men have for their mothers (this point holds good across continents and cultures, across races and peoples). DM always called Moti his mother more than his sister. Whether one would want to use "inherent trait" interchangably with "weakness", is a personal preference. DM at present is probably disappointed with both Moti and himself. At Motiben because of her incessant and unjust hate-war against Santu and at himself because he recognizes his inability to stand up to Moti and put her in her place.
2. Khemi's entire metamorphosis from a gentle and giving, beautiful person to a vicious, negative and power hungry person can be equated with "survival". All at once she found herself at the crossroads - widowed, disinherited and pregnant. She did what any mother in the entire wide world would have done -- secured a place for her and her baby by blackmail, changing polarities and adopting an entirely new persona (delusions of grandeur). Weak again!
3. During the foiled tubectomy track it was seen that DM was putty in Santu's hands. She was right in shielding Birwa but wrong in not telling DM about her fears. DM had started listening to her completely and would have got her out of a possible sentence even if she admitted to the crime. Birwa's name would have not featured in the case. And Birwa was more of a "Troubled" child rather than a Trouble child! Adolescent, lonely, motherless, chubby, insecure in her looks and to top it all friendless till Santu came by. Somewhere the "trust" factor again broke the links between Sanraj. A marriage too young to withstand the tornado!
3. As far as Kadambari is concerned, I disagree that she should be taken back by Shashank. Kadambari is a spoilt child-woman, shallow and raised totally by Moti from whom she imbibed qualities that pushed her to make wrong choices all the time. She i am afraid does not have my condolences nor pity. She deserves "Slimeball Sandeep".
4. I like Shardul too as the boy that plays Maulik. I hate Maulik but at the same time, this unwanted child of "Subhadra's" tugs at my heartstrings sometimes when the goodness emerges unbidden and much to his chagrin. With a weak streak in his character, an addiction, a stigma of concealed/revealed illegitimacy, a bandit for a father, thirst to succeed by hook or by crook, he is pitiable, but diabolic. He can stay Leela but, after he is punished for his misdeeds. Be it slave trade or flesh trade, this time i will not condone his crime.
After a long time, i am bantering on the forum with a very unbiased view of Bandini. Good show Leela. keep them coming!

For a while Fuzz, it was only about Sanraj, drool, and numerous waves of cursing all over because Ekta kept this Khemi/Arjan/murder too long and assassinated a few characters. All in all i was tired of reading nothing. So i hibernated for a long time and even stopped ranting. A well written and analysed essay is always a pleasure to read. I have never been a fan of Mills & Boon etc.

Oh, lovely. Could you put this up as a separate post too? That way, those who don't bother to read my post will still get to enjoy yours. Superb! 👏 Erm... Just don't delete it from here, please.

(By the way, for some bizarre reason, only part of your post quoted below is seen in the quote-box. That was *not* my doing. The terrific writing is, all of it, entirely yours.😊 )

Thnaks Leela for your comments. I am afraid putting it up as a separate post will only kill the entire post because often thoughts become repetitive and then the poor mods have to close it since on the forum we try to keep similar thoughts under one post.
There are some like minded people who will read both our posts and will also give us their valuable points of view. Then it becomes interesting.

I just realized I miss Khemi's sweetness and laughter. Wonder if the creatives will ever let her be again the delightful character she used to be.

I am quite certain the old Khemi who was mother to her sisters, doting granddaughter to her nanaji and friend, philosopher, guide to Hiten and Santu died sometime ago. Killed her conscience because of misguided empathy towards Arjan. She can never be resurrected Leela. She may repent but can never turn the clock back.
