I think the whole reason he is so mad at Santo is because 1. he is a control freak and likes to be the one who makes those kinds of decisions. You saw that when it was Santo making the choice he was all for calling off the divorce but when she stood firm in her decision he was like I will do it now. He is not used to anyone going against what he wants. 2. He deep down does really care for her and does not want to lose all that she has brought to his family but being a dominate male he can not express it. That is why I think he is mad at her and wants to punish her.
