Payal, I've just read through your posts, and my response to you is this -

I'm in total agreement with the views you've expressed.
More than anything, the one thing that stands out is the common sense truth that every right has a responsibilty associated with it. Simply put, there is no right that comes without responsibility.
Maulik (not the actor) is an absolutely irresponsible cowerd, with no courage, integrity, and there is nothing to suggest that he has any sense of morality either. It's ridiculous for him to demand equal rights to a responsible person when he has proven himself to be so irresponsible. He has done everything possible to PROVE that he is a lowly person... and so how can he demand to have respect equal to Hiten, when he is NOT equal to Hiten in ANY way?!
This is the problem with modern society -- it's pushing for everything and everyone to be seen as legitimate as the other (and therefore everyone has the same rights), when quite frankly, almost everything is NOT as legitimate as other. How can the fraudster be as legitimate as the honest and hardworking person? How can a selfish liar be as legitimate as a truthful person? How can a cowerdly person demand the same respect as a selfless and courageous person?
All of the above are NOT on the same level, and therefore it's abserd to think that each has the same claim to a particular right, which in turn, DEMANDS responsibility!
Hiten may not be the greatest person on the planet, but he surely has PROVEN himself to be a far superior person to Maulik in every single aspect. Therefore, if DM was not giving Hiten extra respect for the superior (in comparison to Maulik) person that he is, it was be an injustice on the part of DM!
Hiten's grounds for grievance against his father are valid and understandable -- and surely DM knows that also. Maulik on the other hand, he's just a selfish and ungrateful leech that doesn't want to earn respect, but yet he wants to still reap benefits of being a Mahiyavanshi. I'm sure that DM has also realised that Hiten is willing to sacrifice his own happiness for the ones he cares for, and he is a man of stern principles... but Maulik is the opposite!
Hiten has faults, yes... but the bottom line is this -- Hiten and Maulik CANNOT be seen as equal in any respect. Hiten is a much better person, and so he MUST get extra respect.
Once again Payal, I applaud you for speaking the blunt and bold truth -- honestly, it's been a long time since anyone has made valid points that have impressed me so much. Excellent posts, and I hope to read many more in the future.
God bless.
