Actually just wanted to add one more thing here the when Mpti Ben talks her language is worse then the uneducated maids (sorry no offence meant) the similes and puns she uses are far from being funny they are annoying and bad.

I appriciate Rasika Joshi here as actingwise she is very good infact I have always liked her in all the roles she has played the ones on the TV earlier or her movies but here the character is shown to be very incinsistant. On one side she is shown to be nice and loving matriarch of a big high caste family and on the other she is shown as one foul mouthed irritating old woman. Creatives seriously need to do something about it.

Yes, I agree it is too much. They should stop showing so much violence and hate towards lower cast people. We talk about discrimination on Indians in Australia, what is shown in Bandini is the same version of it. They should stop it.

@ TVarsika : We have seen Santo disrobed, Shambu almost dipped into boiling oil, Khemi slapped, little Moonghi being told her sister was bought for a price.... How much more are we to see?

Pls stop such verbal/physical abuse. There are ways to show enmity and hatred by one character for another without actually being graphic!

Is there no law in India which would prevent people from showing such scenes on TV/film? Or are we supposed to take all this in the name of 'reality'? Come on... we know there is not much reality in TV shows anyway! So why get real only about violence?
I agree with u completely.....and i'm sure this is not only confined to Bandini...there are many serials where the behaviour of the Vamp/Villan is completely unacceptable .
Please writers and producers , evaluate the contents of your shows and think about its social impact and not only TRPs and the money that the advts. bring in!

the aunt really pissed me off! its like she was taking out the family member's increasing love for Santu on the Khemi and her betrothed! i wish Khemi wudda slapped her back....wishful thinking? i know!! i guess 'this' might be the reason that Khemi won't get married?! or perhaps even if she might when Hiten returns and sees that the couple is getting ill-treated at the hands of the hand!! this might be a good prospective track!!

Very true. We should be careful in what we show on TV and how we show it. There are people watching us, from many countries. and not just Indians. We have to show the truth. People from marginalised sections of society ARE ill-treated in India. But because visual media has such power over people's minds, we have to provide proper context. The aim should be spread love, not violence!

Yes, this happens in many serials. But I think we should appreciate the fact that at least the Bandini cast cares about what we say. They take time to visit IF, read our views and respond. In other serials, the audience complaints but no one from the production team or channel seems to
bother.

Dear friends,
I want to thank you all for your overwhelming support to this thread! I didn't expect it.

I also want to thank Sanjay sir for being so good as to pass on our views to RR and to BT and NDTV.

I am surprised that NDTV Imagine is the channel where this is playing out. NDTV is known for its journalistic credentials and exposing suffering among marginalised peoples across India. So they should be more careful about what they are trying to say through their TV serials.

May be they can do a documentary on why Indian TV serials (in all languages) have extraordinarily evil people as vamps and villains!!!
