@ Hema :

Wow that really happens?
If that is the case, then I am not SO against the Hiten-Khemi relationship, but I STILL think it was un-necessary to show both father and son falling for Waghelas... like they are the only girls in the village!

Yes, that really happens. I know someone who has been married to her own mama. She herself was completely against it but her parents would not have it any other way. Now toh she has kids and all.

I agree with you about father-son both being in relationships with the Waghela sisters. Let us hope that like other promos this one turns out to be majorly misleading. Maybe Hiten-Khemi will cross the line, Khemi gets preggy but has realized her mistake and so agrees to marry this other dude and takes off with him. Enters later on with the child to create problems down the road.

I have a question here. In some communities it is expected for a girl to marry her Mama (mother's brother) and that too who is related to her by blood. And, it is completely accepted by all. So, if it is OK for a girl to marry her mama why cannot a boy marry his masi. The relationship stays the same except the genders are reversed. So why is one relationship called incest and the other not? Are we not being sexist here?

In Hiten-Khemi's case they are not related by blood. I never was and still am not in favor of the Hiten-Khemi angle. My post is just to know everyone's thoughts.

Hema, a girl was allowed to marry her mama in south india ...........it was more a marriage of convenience, ignorance and not enough education.........but i strongly believe thats no excuse and those marriages were ridiculous and weird...... and the truth is they have grown out of that as the literacy rate has increased........there kids facing never ending health issues and to top it its incest..........

No Khemi - hiten

Well , if things like that do happen .. meaning if girls are still getting married to their own maternal uncles against their wishes, then I guess we should not have SO much of a problem with Hiten-Khemi .. I just hope , like Rasika, said they show both types of love stories in Bandini- SanRaj : from a non-possibility to a success and Hit-Mi : from faint possibility to disaster

LOL

Thanks Usha for that information. This marraige that I am talking about happened some 15+ years ago. I am hoping it was an exception rather than the rule. Glad to hear things have changed now.😊
