thanks so much for the article, Sukh ji..
she sounds pretty grounded.. i haven't watched many Ek shows, but yeah, she did kill herself by going repetitive in many of her shows..
nyways.. best of luck to her..
and she's so sweet giving credit to Balika Vadhu instead of her own serial..

Indeed he is IMPRESSIVE.. cant doubt that for a millisecond even!..

It goes down to show that at every tight spot Ekta prefers to go with Ronit. Her most trusted and ever reliable alliance!

Anyways thanks to her, we are getting to see yet another phase of RR!! He'll rock it all around for sure.

Great find Sukhi.. At the end of the day EK is EK, you might hate her, you might love her, but at the end of the day its impossible to not notice her... She is one hell of a businesswoman, one who can anticipate what the audience wants and how they react...

@Sukhi & Gawker,

The current trend on SP is just a passing phase...they are totally overdoing the 'bharatiya sanskar and parampara' bit and frankly, if you look at their current shows, there is not much of a story or even screen-play in place, its just a concept in place and they are dazzling the viewers with the sets, costumes ect!
The highlight of Ekta's soaps have been (a) Its amazing range of talented and good-looking actors! I mean where does one even start counting their names! All the television super-stars of today are Balaji protegees! The newcomers introduced by other shows are not even a patch on the likes of RR / Shabbir / Rajeev Khandelwal / Ram Kapoor / Harshad Chopra / Iqbal Khan / Ejaz Khan / Shweta Tiwari / Smriti Irani / Saakshi Tanwar ./ Prachi Desai / Pancchi Bora / Aamna Sharif / Sanjida and so, so, so many other wonderful finds!
(b) The best loved love stories on television have all been Balaji productions! Right from KZK till, Kayamath, Kasamh Se, Kahin Toh Hoga, Kasturi, Kis Des Mein Hain Mera Dil and so many more! No one presents passion and romance the way Ekta does! Their lead stars have to just look at each other and Wow...chemistry everywhere!
(c) Drama! Alright, so Ekta overdid this a bit. But what is the point of a daily soap, if it doesnt' give you something to look forward to? Every episode of BT shows ended with the viewer eagerly awaiting the next one! Nothing like that in the current crop of non-BT shows...even if you skip one week and watch it, you will know exactly what to expect!
The biggest problem with Ekta was that she got extremely repetitive in the recent past and there was way too many twists and turns in all her shows! With Bandini, she has got her groove back and I really want to see her coming back just like old times!

I just cant help but point out the example of the newly launched YRKKH here .. nothing personal against it but in a semi-urban set up as the city they show in the show, it's really hard to beleive that talking in public with a boy is equal to ruining your family name😆

That is so true. after being tortured by kayamath, i swore off bt serials, only to find myself following bandini. my first drug was KAA. Ekta has a true talent for creating wonderful relationships onscreen. with characters that entertain and capture your heart. i take so much crap from bt just to be witness to these wonderful onscreen jodis. the current crop of high trp sp serials is pretty much kiddie stuff in comparison.

I couldnt agree more😆

Thanks Suks. Very nice interview/article.

"How are Bandini and Kitani Mohabbat Hai doing?
One is the No 1 show on NDTV Imagine, the other one is No 3. Ramayan is at No 2. Expect more announcements.
"

Bandini totally rocks and now with the awesome Director at the helm no stopping it from sky rocketing.
