Wow, if i dint expect last weeks episode, i certainly dint expect this one either... It was a beautiful episode, concentrating more on the relationships that bind all of the Mahiyavanshi's(the informal ones included) together, with the central theme being the one DM-Santu are bound in, Husband -wife.. I loved all of their scenes today, not just for the acting and the actors, but moreso, because of the subtlety with which the growth of their relationship was shown, and how every other person in the house is in one way or the other forced to accept it/or is affected by it..
First was when Santu returns from the temple and is about to keep the lamp in the tulsi plant, when Taruben stops her and santu explains that it is mannat ka prasad, and that she's done it for malik.. Taruben ultimately has to accept the fact that Santu, is DM's WIFE... and nothing she can do to humiliate her/torture her will change that fact... Pan over to Taruben handing the prasad over to DM, who is off the ventillator and looks a lot better.. The scene where DM eats the prasad and Santu keeps the lamp is shown simultaneously and the effect is beautiful... Again highlighting the sincerity and faith santu has in her relationship...DM orders that the holi preparations be started, he's fit and holi will be celebrated with the same pomp and splendor as every year... Santu is looking down at the preparations and decides to confide in Champakali, which thankfully, bapuji prevents... And has a few kind words for santu as well, regarding her malik.. At the end of the day, i think, Bapuji is the only comfort/ally that santu seems to have in that house..And then the scene which was absolutely marvellous.. Santu goes inside, wanting to tell DM about jaggu.. She's calling out softly, malik... Dm himself comes down in search of medicines, that champakali has misplaced.. And what does dear darling santu say, malik, aapne takleef kyun ki?? Aapne mujhe bulaliya hota..(wonder here what he'd have called her?? Chokri or santu?? Either one would have assured the virasat type scene that i am so hoping is shown on them..) DM says that he cant find his dawai, and santu, poor girl, gets the entire set.. Malik says, tune saari dawaiyan lekar aayi(he was soo understanding in this scene) and picks out the one he wants, takes the offered glass of water and takes his tablet... What a beautiful scene, it was brilliant.. so subtle, yet it spoke wonders as to how much of a change DM has undergone...DM going about the rest of his day as usual, giving cash to Maulik, talking to hiten asking him to come home for holi, and then the businessy chat with pinakin... And Santu worrying her saree away as to whether or not to tell DM about Jaggu...DM is leaving for the village, when santu calls out, malik, rukiye.. DM is annoyed and says, ki chikri dont you know, you're not supposed to stop a person when he's leaving home.. Santu requests him not to go.. DM says, dont cross your limits.. Santu falls at his feet, begs him, pleads with him not to go out, as they'll kill him.. DM is about to cross the gate, when santu says, mein jaanti hoon wo kaun hai... DM looks slightly miffed, says, you knew, but you dint tell me.. now tell, who was it??.. Santu says that she was blackmailed, that they told her to keep quite or her nanaji would suffer.. DM says, good, your nanaji is important to you.. and he should be... and is about to walk out, when, Santu blurts out that it was Jagmohan.. DM is taken aback, but not shocked/suprised that at the end of the day, jaggu was the one who attacked him... Santu falls at DM's feet again and says, I'm your wife, and as your wife, it is my duty to tell you these things, so i'm begging you, for heaven's sake dont go out.. DM melts, gently, lifts her by her shoulders and says, you dont worry, nothing will happen to me.. And as long as i'm alive, nothing will happen to your nanaji.. Baa is watching this from upstairs, and then looks at subhi's pic sadly... DM lets Santu go and walks to his car, gets in and goes off... Santu runs behind for a little while, yelling malik malik... And then the episode ends... This scene was absolutely, superb... It was done with such simplicity...such a pure scene that it truly melted my initial resentment for the past week.. They say, that even if your entire family is against you, if your partner/the one you love is by your side, you can fight the entire world.. And DM-Santu are on their way there.. It is not the sort of love that sends tingles down your toes, but its that sort of love that truly leaves a mark... Santu has truly accepted DM as her husband.. And DM is slowly slowly accepting that there is this person whom he's married to, and who doesn't hang on a wall...Briiliant episode.. Entire episode was shot marvellously...
