Excerts:
In Bandhan, you are playing mother to a little girl. How different is your character compared to the other characters which we see on our TV screen?
The whole concept is different because there is a family who stays in the forest and they accept elephant as their family member. The project is very refreshing and different for television. If we are associated in a different kind of show, automatically our character also becomes special. Secondly, I would say it's not typical family drama. I won't say family dramas are bad but there are lot of shows like that and our show is different from those type of shows.
Is there any similarity with that film Haathi mere saathi starring Rajesh Khanna?
I saw that film when I was a kid but it's not fair to compare these two. It was film subject and this is television subject. It has its own aura. Elephant is part of family so here the concept is how the bonding of girl and elephant grows further which is different. So I don't think it will be fair to compare these two.
There is an elephant in the show. Have you bonded with him well?
It's a baby elephant but initially there is some hitch after all its an elephant. So it was very new and challenging experience for every actor. The way you develop rapport with everyone was the same while bonding with the elephant as well. Elephant has also gradually become comfortable with us. Now if we look at the elephant he smiles and says "hai" every day (laughs).
In the promos we have see Lord Ganesh gifting the elephant. Is this something connected to the mythologies?
No. There is no myth in the show. It's about love is not limited to human only'. So when the family loses their kid who was about to be part of the family, they extract love beyond the human and elephant becomes a family member. The Lord Ganesh which was shown in the promo is about faith and not about myths.

How is the experience of working with Siddharth sir as producer?
Swasthik as a production house has good reputation. The good thing I like about them personally even before taking up the show was they usually come up with different show whether it works or not. They always try to come up with unique subject which is different and new. I really like this production house and with Siddharth, I have not got so much of interaction with him. As a producer and production house they are doing good job. It's a good start because it's different subject and because of them we got such variety roles. It's nice of them to consider me for this role. It was Siddharth's decision that I was suitable for Prabha's role very well and I am thankful to him for that.
Did you do any particular preparations to enter into the skin of this character Prabha?
No. She is a today's girl. She is educated and I don't think there is need for preparation to deal with this character. I was little excited how the interaction with elephant but slowly it was all good. No particular preparation.
How is the child actor doing on the set?
She is good and fun. We both are like partners in crime. She is the one I like to do most of my scenes. We usually are around each other. When she is around, it's always a fun environment on the sets. She keeps hopping and jumping around.
Prabha is a very strong and modern mother till now according to story. How will Prabha's character shape up?
It's a surprise. You will know very soon that how it is going to develop. You have to wait and watch for that. I can't reveal it now.
Generally if there is any animal in amovie then we consider it to be a children's movie. So is Bandhan for kids or is it for all kinds of audiences?
The kid and the baby elephant are the major theme of the show, so kids would get attracted to this show. There is villain element in the show and a lot of drama takes place as the story progresses and there's a journey in which adults also will get connected to it. I would not say it is only for the kids but I am sure kids will love it more because of elephant and girl.
