How about his office is investigating some illegal activity and the gang or mafia involved wants to kill Shiv.

So on independence day parade the mafia or gang send an assassin to kill Shiv, as he must be near gathering enough evidence to put them behind bars.

I know Anandi loves Shiv a lot but want to see more.
