If the actress doesn't put anything of her own and just does what the director told, doesn't mean she can't act IMO. The reaction was natural, the scene was very well directed and Gehna's act was upto the mark. Surekhaji did exceptionally well and I could connect with the mother's pain.. But when Gehna and Nandu's scenes came, it made me realize their pain and loss is even worse.

I don't think the performances were at fault.It is just that the impact was lost because of the hype.

All these scenes of Basant with his family were being aired on the show while the promo of his death is being aired every once in a while on the channel.

So this has taken away some of the impact .

All though for me it was the scene between DS and J in the hospital that made a bigger impact on me than the scene at home though well acted .

May be because I connect to DS and J more than Gehna.

Let us see today. When the body is taken out for cremation, it will be a poignant scene. Wish Bhairon and Sumitra are there to console Gehna. Who will lit the pyre? Jagya or young nandu? Is not nandu too young to do it alone?

Do not agree with TM,

As others said there is no set standard as how to react in such situations. People behave differently in similar situations. Gahna could not believe on her eyes , was in denial mode, hoping against hope that Basant would get up any moment and demand his khichadi, she was trying to wake him up discarding his prank by showing the khichadi he loved. She brought out that emotion well enough. And it was director's call that how she has to react. Accidental deaths are always most painful , struck like bolt and give no time to sink in the hard truth.

DS was out standing in her scenes, specially when Jagya has taken Basant in the OT and closed the door. DS back was bent on 90 degree, with difficulty she some how managed to stand up. As she was unable to lift the burden of her son's death. That scene spoke a lot . The otherwise courageous lady grew10 years older in an instant watching her son's fatal accident . Surekhaji was at her best.

Nandu and Jagya were also good in their parts specially Nandu , the kid was shocked to see his father lying lifeless there. And Gahna was in extreme pain on her son's behalf also, on watching him in that condition.

I thought Surekha Sikri was outstanding -- her shock, refusal to accept his death were so realistic; her expressions were life-like.

Gehna forcing basant to eat didn't work for me. It was overdone. Two people in succession asking him to wake up etc was repetitive. But once Gehna accepted he was gone, she was superb. Her tears and anguish were heart-rending.

The star for me was nandu - a born, natural actor who has always acted well but not got the recognition he deserves.

For me that scene in the hospital worked.Both Surekhaji and Shashank were so good in that scene.

After a long time I liked his performance there.

@bold - That boy is a very good actor and probably that is one reason why they are not replacing him in the show with an older boy.

Disagree leaves Gehna's reaction was quite natural from shock & denial to finally accepting the harsh truth Sheetal was very good in acting Everyone acted awesome be it Surekha jee , Nandu ., Sargun & Shashank as always awesome

now it feel i am watching real bv .basant death make bv real and it is according to bv theme .really very sad scene in bh haveli today toral and siddharth also acted very nicely .shashank dadisa also acted very well in yesterday and today episode .
