Balika Vadhu will advocate the social issue of adoption in its upcoming track, with the entry of child actor Khushmeet Gill as Shiv ( Siddharth Shukla) and Anandi's (Toral Rasputra) adopted son. Khushmeet will play a six-year-old orphaned boy, Amol, suffering from acute arthritis, and hence, wheelchair bound.

The storyline will be taking various twists and turns with Amol's entry on the show. Sources told us that the boy would now become the centre of the storyline. When we spoke to Khushmeet, he said, "I love acting and Amitabh Bachchan is my favorite actor. I will be working with Siddharth uncle and Toral aunty who are playing my parents in Balika Vadhu. I have started shooting with them and they are very sweet to me. They even bought me some chocolates on the first day of shoot."

Siddharth said it was good shooting with kids, as they brought a lot of positive energy with them. "Through this track, we aim to spread awareness about adoption opportunities. Shiv and Anandi want their first child to be an adopted child, so that they not only experience this phase by bringing happiness in their own life, but also making it special for an orphaned kaid. Disabled children have the same aspirations as normal kids, sometimes even more. So we should not neglect them," he said.
