Breaking up and slandering in media for publucity is another thing but lodging an FIR means its not just publicity..law is not a game...police can take action against the channel n pratz n mak if they come to know its a false FIR.

Btw ppl r missing the most important point in SBB...they said a third person has come between p n mak who is an actor and has worked with P in her show ;-)

@ bold- Neha , exactly .I was also thinking the same thing , when everyone was bashing Prats and saying that it's a publicity stunt.I don't think law is game and everyone can play with it according to their fancies.

Mumbai: TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee has landed herself in trouble. The girl, who became a household name after essaying the role of Anandi in popular TV show Balika Vadhu', has reportedly had a tough time with her ex-boyfriend Makrand Malhotra.

Pratyusha filed a complaint with the Oshiwara Police Station, alleging that Makrand hurled abuses at her and even threatened to kill her. But the allegations made by the actress are surprising, as her boyfriend had thrown a lavish bash to celebrate her birthday recently. Not just that, the duo was very much a couple until last week!

The fights between the two infuriated after Makrand felt that Pratyusha was cheating on him and hence he wanted to resolve the problem. But Pratyusha refused to acknowledge his concerns and on the following day kept calling him relentlessly.

When Makrand avoided her calls, she complained to her father, who in turn threatened him to get him killed. The young businessman recorded the telephonic conversation and used the same for filing a counter complaint against Pratyusha.

The TV actress epitomised an ideal Indian woman as Anandi in Balika Vadhu' but she quit the show on the pretext that the hectic work schedules were taking a toll on her health.

Recently, Pratusha had conveyed to her fans that she would soon make a comeback to the small screen.

After reading most of the posts I have realised why some Indian Men do not respect Women, I say some because My dad is extremely loving and broad minded with us and my husband more so. Why do we need to only question the woman's sense of dignity where did the man's sense go to - the garbage bin. Is the male gender free of societal responsibilities - is he GOD? We as educated women should not allow ourselves to be used so.

Maybe Prat's is performing a stunt or no that is for her to decide.

Why do we need to sully her name and give a verdict she is just human.

Put yourself in her shoes, as a woman who has been abused, who has been threatened, DO YOU FEEL SAFE? DO YOU FEEL HAPPY? DO YOU FEEL THAT LIFE IS ALL ROSY NO MATTER IF SOMEBODY IS ABUSING YOU?

We Take one simple action today to help ...end violence against woman ---question...or revolt !!

Abusing a woman does'nt make you a man with control ; it makes you a coward ...scared of woman !!Bullying is for people who don't have confidence---that's why this type of jealousy "and making ruckus.How long we have to bear with this ? I think this is high time to take a stand ...and make a statement -Enough is enough...there should be no more ...what is happening should stop ...-We want to live with human beings...definitely not with animals!!

Looks like some people have taken offence to my post. Please don't get me wrong. I am not supporting men who abuse women. It's disgusting. I'm only saying that to come out so openly and publicly in the limelight will not go in her favour. I still say its undignified. After all she has been openly dating him. The matter however serious which frankly I doubt, should have been dealt within personal doors. Also,To many this is going to look like a publicity stunt specially as the news is that pratyusha will be part of big boss which starts shortly.

Personally I think stepping back from Balika Vadhu was her biggest mistake. She must be really regretting it as at the time it may have looked that she"ll move on very fast, and good offers will pour in,but its easier said than done. The fact that she,s accepted a sleezy show like big boss proves this.Initially when the show just started there was a level of decency somewhere in it but since couple of years it's just nothing but a Laugh for the audience completely at the expense of the housemates. theres no dignity to that show whatsoever.Whereas Balika Vadhu is still one of the nicest shows on tv.

I don't mean to offend anyone or their views and if that's how it looked I am sorry. But my view on the matter is as above and won't change.

My dear I still won't agree with you, though everybody has the right to put their point across.

Not only Prats, it seems that in your Country any woman who comes out openly are looked down. Why ? Is that paricular female is looked down just by males, law, females as well as families too?

She did not stepped down from BV herself but was fired, and she was and is very diplomatic actress who did not comment against the injustice.

She is one hell of a talented girl, and she will get better offers, there are people with minimum acting abilities yet they have been hired or is it whom you know?

If BB is that sleezy, indecent then surely it is a wrong message and impression on viewers and theses type of shows should not be telecast. @ bold I am living with my hubby for past many many years openly, and if he will abuse me, he will rot in jail, I won't be sorting him out in closed doors.

No offense to anyone, but no body will play with law.

Again I'm being misunderstood. I do not by any means support women being curbed or ill treated. I live in Mumbai and very familiar with the problems our society faces. I feel pratusha could have handled this better. I've just read that her boyfriend has now come out with some story. It's all getting messier than ever. And that's expected as once your out in the open there's no turning back.

I did not know she was fired so that's my mistake. There could have been a valid reason but how do we know. Her friendship with Sara khan is hardly giving her marks. It's well known about Sara's act in big boss.

I will still say the inmates of big boss make a complete fool of themselves in front of the entire nation! And anyone whose got better options will not go down that route.

Sad for pratyusha I feel though because Balika vadhu is a fantastic show and wether the new anandi has gained popularity in this forum or not I'd quite irrelevant. The ratings speak for themself. It's still holding up as colours top show. I suppose people watch the show more for the story versus the actors.

Anyway I wish pratyusha the best. Anyone whose on the right will get victory eventually and if she's done nothing wrong she has nothing to fear.
