Not enough permission for threads??

I thought this was a open forum and everything is open for everyone.But few threads started throwing Insufficient permission. Is it only me or anyone face this too???

I don't get this concept of only some privileged members threads. If anyone has this same issue please let others know that you are underprivileged so you will not be open to comment in all the threads

I think the 'Insufficient Permission' message means that the threads in question have been locked and are under Dev. Team observation. I have to say, though, that I don't get the need to make locked threads unreadable to regular members... why not just close them with a note and let the posts prior to the locking of the thread remain present for public view?
