The Difference Between Ganga and Anandi - Page 2

I too didnt like DS comparing Ganga with Anandi so soon .
Anandi has given best years of her life to take care of Singhs and J . Since childhood she thought of them first and put her dreams on back burner . She received cruel treatment from DS at a very young age but still used to respect and love her . She has always forgiven her misdeed with open heart, be it burning of her books,throwing her out of haveli, marrying J with Guriya or more recently pressurizing her to remarry J .
While Ganga came to the Haveli just few months back and received nothing but sympathy ,love and care from singhs and Doctorsa , they were always willing to go extra mile for her . She was bound to return love and concern after this treatment . So based on interaction for such a small period how can DS compare her with Anandi and even found her better than later.

She seems good, intelligent and brave woman ,but Anandi was much more than just this .

As you said Anandi's vision was always wider than her family and friends .She never hesitated to save anyone sometimes even at the cost of her life . She put bangles in Asha's hand to make her happy and suffered the DS wrath for that.And she fought against whole village when they were wrong .Remember how she saved Gulli's mother's life putting herself in danger that too at a very small age .

We have yet to see how Ganga will handle such situations ,till now she thought only about Singhs and Doctorsa who are her saviours . So in my opinion it is too early to compare both by DS . Funny thing was when all singhs were praising food prepared by G2 thinking that it was prepared by A. 😆

Anandi story is not making any progress in Udaipur right now 😕, hopefully after showing her appreciated by all Shekhars except Sanchi 🤢 they will start something meaningful for her . Many possibilities are there to explore .
G 2 too should concentrate more on education if she really wants to become a nurse.

Years of selfless love and care of Anandi can not be compared to Ganga's concern and help of few months .She received more than she gave back .
And Anandi made DS to see things with different and just out look discarding her age old stale thinking . Thus she was able to feel sympathy for Ganga from the day one ,where A has to suffer a lot to make this road smooth .Still she was never bitter and never left her fight against injustice .

Infact earlier DS was no way less than Ganga's mother in law, Thankfully Ganga has seen only redeemed version of DS. Had it been earlier DS will she ever be able to love her the way Anandi does?

Exactly Aparna, they are totally two different individual with different visions, They do share some similarities owing to the basic quality that they both stand up for the right and protests the wrong.

It is early days yet as far as Ganga's character,so it is too early to comment.As far as Anandi was concerned,she has had a diffeent upbringing with the support of education.That broadens your outlook.She was always socially conscious.ganga has been repressed from an early age deprived of love ,education and freedom.At present,she is getting it in some measure from the Singhs,so naturally she feels free with them.With time and education,she too will evolve into a person of a different but able stature,not as Sarpanch but as Florence Nightingale.😛

i never feel that Ganga was really fast in moving on

First, Ganga cannot be compared to Anandi because it is a new character whereas Anandi's qualities are being shown to us for 4-5 years now.

Second, DS overreacts always be it in praise or criticism. And especially in matters related to her laadesar she goes overboard in her emotion. It is possible she called Ganga better than Anandi and praised her to this extent only because she saved her laadesar from yet another crisis in personal life.

Third, Anandi never had a kid either of her own or adopted. Unlike Ganga whose center of universe is her baby. We'd have seen what social work or other work Anandi would have done if she was a mother and had no support the way Ganga had none. In Ganga's case, it is not just mamta that consumes her - her child is her only support and reason to live and the only person who in return also gave her affection. Otherwise she has received only abuse and neglect in her life with no one to call her own or support her (unlike Anandi).
This is why she does do for family but is extra consumed by what she feels for Mannu.

Fourth, yes Anandi had a leadership streak in her since childhood. But she received a very loving upbringing and lot of support, laad from her parents for whom she was their only child. Her parents or teacher ji never really suppressed her. Even after marriage, Anandi received verbal and emotional abuse BUT only from DS and later Jagya. Whereas Ganga NEVER had any affection in her life (this is why she gets surprised seeing environment at Singh haveli). She has borne worst kind of sexual and physical abuse coupled with emotional and verbal abuse. She is more abused than Anandi.
And without anyone to lean on or cry to. Unlike Anandi who as a kid would get support from Sumitra, Bapusa, Sugna and little Jagya plus her parents. And later too she got support from family when Jagya deserted her.

Ganga FACED worst abuse and NO shoulder to lean on or cry. Still she is bold and a fighter. This is commendable. It's only at Singhs' house that she has seen a normal, loving family functioning.

Still she is doing a BETTER job of bouncing back from extremely abusive and violent past (she had people attempting to burn her alive and later kill her. Atleast Anandi's family never burnt her or plotted her murder!).

Fifth, Ganga's lack of education and lack of support plus lack of positive role models is responsible for her lack of action on larger scale.

Sixth, Bhairon was not just influenced by Anandi. He supported Gehna in her revolts. He delayed Sugna's gauna til she was 18. He wouldn't let little Anandi and Jagya sleep in the same room. It's not like Anandi only awoke his conscience.
Growing up Anandi had two inspirational role models for her at Singh haveli - Bapusa and Gehna who she used to see questioning society's norms.
DO NOT forget BIGGEST influence in her life - Teacher ji! She nurtured Anadi's free spirit as a child, she encouraged her to speak against the wrongs, she protested against her child marriage and gave her lesson that it was unlawful and wrong. In her teens when Anandi had given up study due to DS, it was Teacherji who encouraged her to resume study. Later after Jagya left her and married Gauri, leaving Anandi depressed, Bapusa called Teacherji to inspire her who told Anandi to study further, do something for society on a larger scale and become a prerna for girls like her.

How can we forget all those episodes and continued support and motivation that Anandi got at various stages of life?

Ganga has none of it yet she is so bold, alert and quick to act. Potentially she is much stronger than Anandi and if she had even half the guidance and support that Anandi got then her potential would have come out even better.

It's no mean feat to bear this much abuse and violence yet hold your own and not lose your mental balance. It is to early to diminish her just because she did not get a police complaint written.
