It's been over the month since I don't watch Balika Vadhu. But, I'm regulaty visiting this forum. I read what is happening in the series. I've watched a few scenes of Toral and Siddharth and Toral and Shashank. And, I feelt even more disappointed.
I can not help wondering why this is like that? What made this series so special that somehow it became an integral part of life and enjoyment, half hour, every day, for a several years.
I'm not so young, I live my life, I have a lot of commitments at work and home. But, I always had my time to watch Balika Vadhu.
From where is such global popularity of this series? Beautiful life story, lost love, new love, sorrow, suffering and happines. We would say, just like the theme of almost all series. But it's not.
Than, suddenly at the finish, in front of us is a new, strange women and somehow it no longer was it.
This is the first Indian series that I watched and left me disappointed. And it is not nice. This series made India closer to me, I knew this country only from books and novels and made me more interested in this exotic country.
I think that the makers of this series made a big mistake by replacing Pratyusha. Whether she left alone or was fired, Balika Vadhu supposed to stay out of any misunderstanding, to stay just it was. Regardless of the price.
Who would think that it will blow up such fuss because of replacing actress? Who knew I would feel betrayed because of it?
After all, it seems that Pratyusha with hers charisma, talent and that kind of beauty, was the key for global popularity. You should not allow yourself to lose such a good advertisement for India.
However, intentionally or not, creators of this series did one thing. You have made her a bigger star, but you haven't been true professionals.
It seems that Pratyusha, admit it or not, created a magic called Balika Vadhu.
I completely agree with you, especially the bold ones. I started watching BV since on my life journey I met several families from India and we become good friends, so when BV started to show in my country, I started to watch it for a sentimental reasons. I must admit that I liked the story first, being the mother of two girls, I could not understand that custom of child bride, so I watched hoping to understand.
I loved Avika as young Anandi, I was so angry on DS when she tortured her, I become so emotionally attached to serial, that even I could not understand it.
When Prats come as Anandi, it was so natural and logical, so all of us who watched (and it was always more than 1,5 million people in my country) accepted her and loved her from the first day.
We loved Anandi, did not know anything about actress that played her and for us it was not important. She give the face and the soul to the character we loved, and she always touched our hearts. So we really felt everything that she was feeling.
Now that they replace her we really felt like somebody kidnapped our child and switched her with some stranger, that wear her cloths but has nothing to do with the character that we loved so much.
For me BV was all about Anandi, and Anandi was only Avika and Prats. It is not only my opinion, but from so many people I know. People watched on net new replacement and they do not like it. Lots of them stopped watching, the rest will watch until Prats is there, but all of them feel cheated, because they give a years of their lives and so much of their emotions to the show whose CVs and director just out of the blue decided to change the lead actress, one that we all got so much connected with, in all those years that we watched her superb acting.
For us Pratyusha is the only adult Anandi, and nobody can take her place. We love her way of portraying Anandi, and I do believe that PH and Chanel made a huge mistake in replacing her. This is just my POV and it is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings.
